【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 북구청이 대구시가 주관한 ‘2025년 대구시 주민자치센터 운영 평가’에서 우수상을 수상했다.
이번 평가는 대구시가 9개 구·군을 대상으로 자치센터의 운영 기반, 프로그램, 주민자치위원회 활동, 사업 추진, 우수사례 등 5개 분야 19개 세부지표를 기준으로 정량과 정성 방식으로 진행했다.
북구청은 각 동의 특성과 주민 수요에 맞춘 자치센터 운영, 그리고 주민 참여 확대를 위한 다양한 프로그램을 꾸준히 펼치며 주민자치 역량과 지역 공동체 활성화에 크게 기여했다는 평가를 받았다.
특히 고성동 주민자치센터는 주민 의견을 반영해 새롭게 프로그램을 만들고, 수강생들이 지역 봉사에 참여한 점이 우수사례로 선정됐다.
산격2동, 복현2동, 무태조야동의 주민자치센터도 홀로 어르신 생신 축하 방문, 공유 공간 및 생활용품 대여, 청소년 대상 학습 프로그램, 다문화 주민 한글교실 등 주민 생활과 밀접한 사업을 인정받았다.
금호강 바람소리길 축제 10주년을 기념해 마련된 ‘행복북구 축제아카데미’도 주목을 받았다. 이 프로그램은 주민들이 직접 축제 기획과 콘텐츠 개발, 운영에 참여하면서, 23개 동에서 높은 참여율과 주도성을 확보해 주민주도형 축제의 기반을 다진 사례로 평가됐다.
배광식 북구청장은 “이번 수상은 주민자치위원과 지역 주민들이 함께 만들어낸 소중한 결과”라며 “앞으로도 주민이 중심이 되는 자치센터 운영으로 지역 공동체를 더욱 강화하고, 행정의 실효성도 높이겠다”고 말했다.

Daegu's Buk-gu District Office received an Excellence Award in the "2025 Daegu City Community Autonomy Center Operation Evaluation," hosted by the city.
This evaluation, conducted by the city of Daegu, assessed nine districts and counties using both quantitative and qualitative methods, based on 19 detailed indicators across five categories: operational foundations, programs, community autonomy committee activities, project implementation, and best practices.
Buk-gu District Office was recognized for its consistent implementation of diverse programs to enhance community participation and significantly contribute to community autonomy capacity and revitalize local communities, tailoring its center operations to the characteristics and needs of each neighborhood.
In particular, the Goseong-dong Community Autonomy Center was recognized for developing new programs based on resident feedback and for its participants' participation in community service.
The community autonomy centers in Sangyeok 2-dong, Bokhyeon 2-dong, and Mutaejoya-dong were also recognized for their programs closely related to the lives of residents, including birthday visits for seniors living alone, shared space and necessities rentals, learning programs for youth, and Korean language classes for multicultural residents.
The "Happy Buk-gu Festival Academy," established to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Geumho River Wind Sound Road Festival, also garnered attention. This program, where residents directly participate in festival planning, content development, and operation, was recognized as a successful example of establishing a foundation for a resident-led festival by securing high participation and initiative across 23 districts.
Buk-gu Mayor Bae Gwang-sik stated, "This award is a valuable achievement achieved through the collaboration of resident self-government committee members and local residents. We will continue to strengthen local communities and enhance administrative effectiveness through resident-centered operations of self-government centers."
