더불어민주당 경북도당은 6일 성명을 내고, 안동시에서 현직 공무원이 특정 정당의 입당원서 모집에 관여했다는 의혹에 대해 “공직사회의 정치적 중립을 훼손한 중대한 사안”이라며 수사당국의 철저한 조사를 촉구했다.

앞서 언론 보도에 따르면, 지난 2025년 12월 19일 안동실내체육관에서 열린 장애인단체의 ‘2025 김장김치 나눔행사’ 현장에서 장애인단체 협회장으로 알려진 A씨가 국민의힘 입당원서를 수거해 안동시 소속 동장 B씨에게 전달했다는 주장이 제기됐다.

당시 행사에 참석했던 목격자 C씨는 공무원의 요청에 따라 입당원서를 수거하는 행위 자체가 문제가 될 수 있다고 판단해 자리를 피했다고 주장했다. 그러나 이후 B동장으로부터 수십 차례에 걸쳐 전화와 문자, 카카오톡 메시지를 받았으며, “만나서 이야기하자”는 취지의 연락과 함께 회유성 발언이 이어졌다고 밝혔다.

C씨는 또 같은 해 11월 중순 열린 다른 장애인단체 행사에서도 회원들을 통해 특정 정당의 입당원서를 받는 장면을 목격했다고 주장했으며, 또 다른 간부 공무원 D씨가 이·통장 조직을 통해 입당원서를 수거했다는 의혹도 함께 제기했다.

더불어민주당 경북도당은 이 같은 의혹이 사실일 경우 공무원의 정치적 중립 의무를 규정한 공직선거법과 국가공무원법, 지방공무원법을 위반한 것이라고 주장했다. 특히 사회적 약자인 장애인단체를 대상으로 한 정치 개입 의혹에 대해 “사안의 중대성이 크다”고 강조했다.

경북도당은 “이번 의혹이 일회성 사건이 아니라 반복적·조직적으로 이뤄졌을 가능성도 배제할 수 없다”며 “수사당국은 안동시뿐 아니라 경북지역 전반에 유사한 사례가 있는지까지 포함해 한 점 의혹도 남지 않도록 철저히 수사해야 한다”고 덧붙였다.

He also alleged that another high-ranking public official, Mr. D, collected membership applications through the village and neighborhood head organization.

The Gyeongbuk Provincial Chapter of the Democratic Party of Korea asserted that if these allegations are true, they constitute a violation of the Public Official Election Act, the National Civil Service Act, and the Local Civil Service Act, which stipulate the political neutrality of public officials. They particularly emphasized the "gravity of the matter" regarding the alleged political interference targeting organizations for the socially vulnerable, including those for the disabled.

The Gyeongbuk Provincial Party added, “We cannot rule out the possibility that this suspicion is not a one-time incident, but rather a repetitive and organized one,” and “The investigative authorities must thoroughly investigate to ensure that no doubts remain, including whether there are similar cases not only in Andong City but throughout the Gyeongbuk region.”
