【브레이크뉴스 문경】이성현 기자=문경시는  6일 문희아트홀에서 신현국 문경시장과 이정걸 문경시의회 의장, 도·시의원, 오미자 생산 농가 등 200여 명이 참석한 가운데 ‘오미자 생산 재도약 프로젝트 종합평가 보고회’를 성황리에 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 보고회는 2025년 한 해 동안 추진한 오미자 연구성과와 현장 중심 사업 성과를 시민과 농업인이 함께 공유하고, 문경오미자가 다시 한 번 전국 최고 특산물로 도약하기 위한 실질적인 성장 전략을 제시하고자 마련됐다.

문경시는 2025년 오미자 재배 분야에서 △들녘 활용 오미자 실증시험포 조성 △농업대전환 특화작목특구 시범 운영 △오미자 우량묘 대량생산 기술 개발 등 의미 있는 성과를 거뒀다. 이를 토대로 올해 오미자 재배면적 확대를 위해 총 37억 8,200만 원의 예산을 투입할 계획이다.

특히 이상기후에 선제적으로 대응하기 위해 폭염 대응 노지 환경조절 기술과 저온성 필름을 활용한 생육 촉진 시범사업 등 농업기술센터가 현장 실증을 통해 검증한 신기술을 농가에 보급할 예정이다. 이와 함께 오미자 우량묘목 대량 생산 기술 고도화와 병해충 방제력 향상 연구에도 속도를 낼 방침이다.

보고회 말미에는 참석자 전원이 참여한 ‘문경오미자 부흥을 위한 새로운 도약, 성공 기원 퍼포먼스’가 진행돼 오미자 산업 재도약에 대한 강한 의지를 다졌다.

김미자 문경시 농업기술센터 소장은 “문경오미자는 단순한 농산물을 넘어 지역의 미래 성장동력”이라며 “현장의 목소리를 반영한 적극적인 지원과 기술 혁신을 통해 시민이 체감할 수 있는 오미자 산업 성장을 반드시 이뤄내겠다”고 말했다.

한편 문경시는 보고회 종료 후 ‘2026년 새해 농업인 실용교육 오미자 과정’을 연계 운영해 오미자 재배면적 확대와 생산량 증대의 필요성을 공유하고, 농업인의 실천 의지를 한층 높였다.
