【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구한의대학교(총장 변창훈)가 맡고 있는 대구·경북 대학평생교육기관협의회(회장 권기찬·대구한의대학교 평생교육원장)는 12월 22일부터 23일까지 1박 2일간 경주 더케이호텔 신관 3층 원화B홀에서 ‘2025년 정기총회 및 동계 세미나’를 개최했다.

이번 행사는 대구·경북 지역 대학 평생교육기관 간 협력 강화와 평생교육의 발전 방향을 모색하기 위해 마련됐다. 세미나는 권기찬 회장의 개회사로 시작해 신경석 국가평생교육진흥원 기획경영본부 기획조정실장과 이상욱 한국대학평생교육원협의회 이사장의 특강으로 이어졌다. 두 강연에서는 각각 ‘지역사회와 연계한 대학 평생교육의 방향’과 ‘우리나라 평생교육 정책 방향’을 주제로 평생교육의 역할과 과제를 심도 있게 다뤘다.

이후 참가자들은 화백컨벤션센터 정상회의장 투어를 통해 지역 주요 국제행사 인프라를 살펴보는 시간을 가졌다. 세미나 둘째 날에는 이영찬 동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스 평생교육원장이 ‘2025 APEC 정상회의 성과와 향후 과제’를 주제로 발표했으며, 이상곤 구미대학교 평생직업교육원 부장이 ‘성인학습자와 대학 평생교육’을 주제로 우수사례를 공유했다. 모든 일정은 종합 정리와 함께 폐회로 마무리됐다.

동국대학교 임명수 실장은 “평생교육 발전을 위한 의미 있는 논의가 이뤄진 뜻깊은 자리였다”고 소감을 밝혔다.

권기찬 회장은 “평생교육이 여러 도전에 직면한 상황에서 각 대학이 역량을 모아 함께 나아가는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다”며 “이번 세미나가 지역 대학 평생교육의 새로운 도약을 위한 계기가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.

Daegu-Gyeongbuk University Lifelong Education Institutions Council Successfully Concludes Regular General Meeting and Winter Seminar

The Daegu-Gyeongbuk University Lifelong Education Institutions Council (Chairman Kwon Ki-chan, Director of the Daegu Haany University Lifelong Education Center), led by Daegu Haany University (President Byun Chang-hoon), held its "2025 Regular General Meeting and Winter Seminar" from December 22nd to 23rd at Wonhwa Hall B on the 3rd floor of the new building of The K Hotel in Gyeongju.

This event aimed to strengthen cooperation among university lifelong education institutions in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region and explore future directions for the development of lifelong education. The seminar began with opening remarks by Chairman Kwon Ki-chan, followed by special lectures by Shin Kyung-seok, Director of Planning and Coordination at the Planning and Management Division of the National Institute for Lifelong Education, and Lee Sang-wook, Chairman of the Korea University Lifelong Education Council. The two lectures, titled "The Direction of University Lifelong Education Connected with Local Communities" and "The Direction of Lifelong Education Policy in Korea," delved into the roles and challenges of lifelong education.

Afterwards, participants toured the Hwabaek Convention Center Summit Hall to learn about the infrastructure for major regional international events. On the second day of the seminar, Lee Young-chan, Director of the Lifelong Education Center at Dongguk University's WISE Campus, presented on "Achievements and Future Tasks of the 2025 APEC Summit," and Lee Sang-gon, Director of the Lifelong Career Education Center at Gumi University, shared best practices on "Adult Learners and University Lifelong Education." The event concluded with a closing ceremony and a summary.

Dongguk University Director Lim Myeong-soo commented, "This was a meaningful forum where meaningful discussions were held on the advancement of lifelong education."

President Kwon Ki-chan stated, "As lifelong education faces numerous challenges, it is crucial for each university to pool its capabilities and move forward together. I hope this seminar will serve as an opportunity for a new leap forward for lifelong education at regional universities."
