【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=행복북구문화재단 어울아트센터의 행복예술아카데미가 겨울방학을 맞아 초등학생을 대상으로 ‘겨울방학 단기 영어 뮤지컬 캠프’를 마련한다. 

캠프는 오는 1월 12일부터 17일까지 어울아트센터에서 열린다.

이번 캠프는 학년별 소규모 정원으로 운영된다. 영어 학습과 공연 예술을 결합해 학생들이 실제 무대에 설 수 있는 기회를 제공하는 것이 목표다. 초등 1~2학년 과정과 3~6학년 과정으로 나뉘며, 각 과정당 정원은 12명이다.

지난 모집 첫날 3~6학년 과정은 이미 마감됐으며, 1~2학년 과정도 일부 인원만 남아있는 상태다. 참가비는 1~2학년이 16만 원, 3~6학년이 20만 원으로, 발표회 의상 대여비가 포함된다.

캠프 참가 학생들은 영어 뮤지컬 노래 연습, 발음 및 발성 지도, 안무와 장면 구성, 영어 대사 연습, 무대 리허설 등 다양한 프로그램을 경험하게 된다. 저학년은 기초 중심 수업, 고학년은 연기와 표현력 향상에 초점을 맞춘 맞춤 수업이 진행된다.

캠프 마지막 날인 1월 17일 오후 3시에는 어울아트센터 오봉홀에서 발표회도 예정돼 있다. 강사진에는 호주 음악대학 AIM에서 뮤지컬을 전공한 정은지 강사와 함께 이경선, 김세희 강사가 참여한다. 세 강사 모두 영어 뮤지컬 수업 경험이 풍부한 것으로 알려졌다.

재단 관계자는 “소규모 집중 수업을 통해 아이들이 영어에 대한 부담을 줄이고 무대에서 자신감을 키울 수 있도록 이번 캠프를 기획했다”고 설명했다.

The Happy Arts Academy at the Happy Buk-gu Cultural Foundation's Eoul Arts Center will host a "Winter Vacation Short-Term English Musical Camp" for elementary school students during winter break.

The camp will be held at the Eoul Arts Center from January 12th to 17th.

This camp will be offered in small groups, based on grade level. The goal is to provide students with opportunities to perform on stage by combining English language learning with performing arts. The camp is divided into two classes: 1st and 2nd graders and 3rd to 6th graders, with each class limited to 12 students.

The 3rd to 6th grade program was already fully booked on the first day of registration, and only a limited number of spots remain for the 1st and 2nd graders. The participation fee is 160,000 won for 1st and 2nd graders and 200,000 won for 3rd to 6th graders, which includes costume rental for the performance.

Camp participants will experience a variety of programs, including English musical song practice, pronunciation and voice instruction, choreography and scene composition, English dialogue practice, and stage rehearsals. Lower grades will receive foundation-focused classes, while upper grades will receive customized classes focused on improving acting and expressive skills.

A performance will also be held at the Oul Arts Center's Obong Hall at 3:00 PM on the final day of the camp, January 17th. The instructors include Eunji Jeong, who majored in musical theater at the Australian Institute of Music (AIM), along with Kyungseon Lee and Sehee Kim. All three instructors have extensive experience teaching English-language musical theater.

A foundation representative explained, "This camp was designed to help children reduce their English burden and build confidence on stage through small, focused classes."
