대구시는 보건소 금연클리닉과 대구금연지원센터, 금연치료 의료기관 등 유관 기관과의 협력을 통해 보다 체계적이고 전문적인 금연 지원 체계를 구축했다.
보건소 금연클리닉은 주소지와 관계없이 금연을 희망하는 시민 누구나 이용할 수 있으며, 전문 금연상담사와의 1대1 맞춤형 상담과 함께 개인의 흡연 정도에 따라 니코틴 보조제 등을 지원한다. 특히 6개월간의 집중 치료 이후에도 추가로 6개월간 추구관리 서비스를 제공해 장기적인 금연 성공과 평생 금연을 유도한다.
대구금연지원센터는 고도 흡연자를 대상으로 한 집중관리 프로그램을 운영한다. 4박 5일 일정의 전문치료형 금연캠프를 비롯해, 방문이 어려운 시민을 위한 찾아가는 금연 상담과 집단 프로그램을 통해 금연 치료와 집중 상담, 치료제 지원 등을 제공하고 있다.
또한 금연치료 의료기관에서는 저소득층을 대상으로 8~12주 동안 최대 6회 이내의 진료 및 상담 서비스를 제공하며, 진료비와 약제비, 금연보조제 비용도 함께 지원한다. 금연치료 의료기관은 국민건강보험공단 건강iN 누리집을 통해 확인할 수 있다.
