【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=행복북구문화재단 어울아트센터가 오는 1월 21일부터 2월 7일까지 갤러리 금호에서 특별전 ‘Next Frame: 미래를 여는 시선’을 연다. 

전시는 오전 10시부터 오후 6시까지 관람할 수 있으며, 일요일은 휴관한다. 오프닝 행사는 1월 21일 오후 5시에 갤러리 금호에서 열린다.

이번 전시에는 대구권 6개 미술대학의 우수 신진작가 16명이 참여해 회화, 조소, 영상, 설치 등 다양한 장르의 작품을 선보인다. 지역 청년미술의 실험정신과 앞으로의 가능성을 집중 조명할 예정이다.

‘Next Frame’ 전시는 대구권 미술대학 출신의 신진작가들을 한자리에 모아, 지역 미술계의 차세대 주자와 새로운 움직임에 주목한다. 전시명인 ‘Next Frame’은 영상의 다음 컷을 뜻하는 동시에, 지역 미술이 향후 맞이할 새로운 국면을 상징한다. 단순한 작품 전시를 넘어 현재 동시대 시각예술의 흐름을 살필 수 있도록 기획됐다.

작품들은 회화, 조소, 영상, 설치 등 장르의 경계를 허물며 전개된다. 젊은 작가들은 저마다의 시선과 매체를 활용해 실험적인 시도와 문제의식을 자유롭게 풀어낸다. 이를 통해 지역 미술의 현재와 미래에 대한 입체적인 이야기를 전달한다. 특히 이번 특별전은 대구아트스퀘어를 중심으로 이어져 온 ‘대구권 미술대학 연합전’의 흐름에 맞춰, 우수 작가 16명을 선별해 선보인다는 점에서 의미가 크다.

참여 작가는 다음과 같다. 경북대학교 박소현, 배상빈, 진카이웬, 계명대학교 박예인, 신예지, 이예주, 대구가톨릭대학교 김나혜, 신유진, 최상원, 대구대학교 김성훈, 박시형, 대구예술대학교 박무아, 정라영, 영남대학교 김진영, 박상미, 박준현. 각 대학을 대표하는 신진 작가들이 한 공간에서 개성과 문제의식을 교차한다.

이번 전시는 신진작가들에게는 전시 경험과 지역 예술생태계 진입 기회를 제공한다. 지역민들에게는 동시대 미술을 가까이서 접할 수 있는 장을 마련해 기대를 모은다. 미술대학과 문화기관 간의 협력도 더 공고해질 전망이다.

박정숙 행복북구문화재단 대표는 “이번 전시는 대구 지역 미술대학에서 성장한 신진 작가들의 현재와 가능성을 함께 조명하는 자리”라며 “앞으로도 지역 미술의 미래 세대를 발굴하고 응원하는 전시와 프로그램을 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

Beyond simply displaying artwork, the exhibition aims to provide a glimpse into the current state of contemporary visual art.

The works unfold across genres, encompassing painting, sculpture, video, and installation. Each young artist utilizes their own unique perspectives and media to freely explore experimental approaches and critical thinking. Through this, they present a multi-faceted narrative about the present and future of regional art. This special exhibition is particularly significant in that it showcases 16 outstanding artists, in keeping with the ongoing "Daegu Area Art University Joint Exhibition," centered around Daegu Art Square.

Participating artists include: Park So-hyun, Bae Sang-bin, and Jin Kai-wen from Kyungpook National University; Park Ye-in, Shin Ye-ji, and Lee Ye-ju from Keimyung University; Kim Na-hye, Shin Yu-jin, and Choi Sang-won from Daegu Catholic University; Kim Seong-hoon and Park Si-hyung from Daegu University; Park Mu-ah and Jeong Ra-young from Daegu Arts University; and Kim Jin-young, Park Sang-mi, and Park Jun-hyun from Yeungnam University. Emerging artists representing each university will intersect their individuality and critical thinking in one space.

This exhibition provides emerging artists with exhibition experience and an opportunity to enter the local art ecosystem. This exhibition, which provides local residents with an opportunity to experience contemporary art up close, is highly anticipated. It also promises to further strengthen collaborations between art colleges and cultural institutions.

Park Jeong-sook, Director of the Happy Buk-gu Cultural Foundation, stated, "This exhibition highlights the present and potential of emerging artists who have developed at art colleges in the Daegu area. We will continue to expand exhibitions and programs that discover and support the next generation of local artists."
