【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구시교육청이 인성교육 체험학습의 안전성을 높이기 위한 사전안전영향평가에 나섰다. 

체험학습을 준비 중인 관내 기관을 대상으로 현장 점검을 실시해, 학생 안전을 사전에 점검하고 미흡한 부분을 개선한다는 방침이다.

시교육청은 지난 8일부터 오는 16일까지 대구 지역 인성교육 체험학습기관을 대상으로 2026학년도 사전안전영향평가를 진행하고 있다. 이번 평가는 학생 체험학습 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 각종 안전사고를 예방하고, 보다 안정적인 교육 환경을 마련하기 위한 취지다.

사전안전영향평가 지원단에는 관내 교사 26명이 참여했다. 이들은 기관 관계자들과 함께 현장에 투입돼 점검을 실시하고 있다. 점검 대상에는 향교, 서원 등 지역 연계 체험학습을 운영하는 15개 기관, '대구사랑 골목탐방' 3개 코스, 인성교육 체험센터를 운영하는 21개교가 포함됐다.

지원단은 학생 단체 활동 가능 여부, 소화기·비상구 관리, 위생 및 청결 상태, 이동 동선 내 안전 확보, 우천 시 대체프로그램 마련 등 총 26개 항목을 꼼꼼히 살핀다. 현장에서 드러난 미흡점은 즉시 개선을 권고하고, 추후 실무에 반영될 수 있도록 안내할 예정이다.

이번 평가는 지난해 높은 만족도를 기록한 인성교육 체험학습의 성과를 이어가기 위한 후속 조치이기도 하다. 지난해 실시된 만족도 조사에서는 지역 연계 체험학습에 학생 95.9%, 교사 97.8%가 만족한다고 답했으며, '대구사랑 골목탐방'은 학생 95.8%, 교사 97.9%가 긍정적으로 평가했다.

강은희 교육감은 “인성교육 체험학습이 진정한 교육적 의미를 가지려면 학생 안전이 최우선으로 보장돼야 한다”며 “일회성 점검이 아닌, 현장과의 꾸준한 소통을 통해 실효성 있는 안전관리 체계를 이어가겠다”고 강조했다.

From March 8th to March 16th, the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education is conducting a pre-safety impact assessment for the 2026 school year at character education experiential learning institutions in the Daegu area. This assessment aims to prevent various safety accidents that may occur during student experiential learning programs and create a more stable educational environment.

A support team of 26 teachers from the district participated in the pre-safety impact assessment. They are conducting on-site inspections alongside institution officials. The inspection targets include 15 institutions that operate community-based experiential learning programs, such as Confucian schools (hyanggyo) and seowon (Confucian academies), three "Daegu Love Alley Tour" programs, and 21 schools that operate character education experiential centers.

The support team will carefully review 26 items, including the availability of student group activities, management of fire extinguishers and emergency exits, hygiene and cleanliness, ensuring safety along the route, and arranging alternative programs in case of rain. Any deficiencies identified on-site will be immediately recommended for improvement and guidance provided for future implementation.

This evaluation also serves as a follow-up measure to build on last year's high satisfaction ratings for the character education experiential learning program. In a satisfaction survey conducted last year, 95.9% of students and 97.8% of teachers reported satisfaction with the local community-based experiential learning program, while 95.8% of students and 97.9% of teachers positively evaluated the "Daegu Love Alley Tour."

Superintendent Kang Eun-hee emphasized, "For character education experiential learning to truly be educationally meaningful, student safety must be the top priority. We will maintain an effective safety management system through consistent communication with the field, rather than a one-time inspection."
