【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항시의회(의장 김일만)는 30일 남구청과 북구청을 방문해 2026년도 각 부서별 주요업무 추진 계획을 보고받고 읍·면·동 주요 현안 사항을 점검했다.
이날 의원들은 남·북구청장으로부터 업무보고를 받은 뒤, 시민 생활과 직결된 정책이 실질적인 개선 효과로 이어질 수 있도록 생활 밀착형·시민 체감형 시책 추진을 강조하며 다양한 질의와 대안을 제시했다.
특히 남구 송도동과 북구 항구동을 연결하는 국지도 20호선 효자~상원 간 도로가 다음 달 2일 개통되는 것과 관련해 형산강 일대 교통 체증 해소를 위한 회전교차로 설치, CCTV 구축을 통한 불법 주정차 단속 강화, 해오름대교 일원 주차장 등 부대시설의 조속한 건립을 주문했다.
이와 함께 구도심 지역의 불법 적치물과 주차 공간 부족, 빈집 범죄 우려 문제를 지적하며 정주여건 개선을 위한 구청 차원의 적극적인 대응을 요구했다. 도로 훼손을 유발하는 활어차의 해수·염분 방출 행위에 대한 계도 및 단속 강화와 유흥업소 밀집 지역에 방치된 청소년 유해 간판에 대한 전수조사 필요성도 제기됐다.
아울러 지난 28일부터 전면 시행된 ‘배리어프리 키오스크’ 정책의 차질 없는 이행과 남·북구 균형 발전을 위한 정책 발굴, 화재 예방과 대응 체계 강화, 안정적인 지방세입 확보를 위한 시와 구청 간 긴밀한 협력을 당부했다.
이밖에 도심에 장기간 방치된 캠핑카 단속, 장마철 집중호우 대비 소하천·세천 관리 강화, 소방차 진입을 위한 전통시장 고정형 좌판 정비에 대해서도 개선을 요청했다.
이재진 부의장은 “이번 주요업무보고는 2026년도 구청 사업의 방향과 목표를 공유하는 의미 있는 자리였다”며 “계획된 사업들이 차질 없이 추진돼 시민이 체감할 수 있는 성과로 이어질 수 있도록 최선을 다해달라”고 말했다.
