【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항시해병대전우회가 혹한의 설원에서 장기간 훈련을 마친 해병대 특수수색여단 장병들을 격려하기 위한 지원 활동에 나섰다.
해병대 특수수색여단은 실전적 동계 작전수행능력 강화를 위해 ‘2026년 동계 설한지 훈련’을 지난 1월 2일부터 2월 26일까지 2차에 걸쳐 실시했다. 이번 훈련은 평창 산악종합훈련장을 비롯해 강원·경북·강화 일대에서 대규모 야외기동훈련으로 진행됐다.
훈련에는 해병대 특수수색여단 장병 360여 명과 미 해병대 장병 300여 명 등 총 660여 명이 참가해 한미 연합작전 수행능력을 점검했다. 영국 코만도 요원들도 훈련을 참관하며 동계 주특기와 소부대 전술훈련에 대한 전술 교류를 진행했다.
훈련은 동계 주특기 훈련, 소부대 전술훈련, 장거리 무장행군과 대대 전술훈련 등 3단계로 구성돼 혹한과 험준한 지형을 반영한 실전형 훈련으로 실시됐다.
훈련을 마친 해병대 특수수색대원들은 지난 2일 포항시에 도착했다. 이에 포항시해병대전우회는 장기간 훈련을 마친 후배 장병들의 노고를 격려하기 위해 지원 활동을 펼쳤다.
포항시해병대전우회(회장 고한중)는 지난 2월 1일 임원단이 훈련장을 방문해 장병들에게 햄버거 세트를 전달했으며, 2월 2일에는 부대 복귀 과정에서 주요 이동 구간에 회원들을 배치해 교통 정리와 안전한 이동을 지원했다.
고한중 회장은 “국가 안보를 위해 혹한 속에서도 임무를 완수한 특수수색대원들의 헌신에 깊이 감사드린다”며 “앞으로도 선배 전우로서 후배 장병들을 응원하고 실질적인 지원을 이어가겠다”고 밝혔다.
