【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=(재)경북테크노파크(원장 하인성, 이하 경북TP)는 기술보증기금, 포스텍(POSTECH), 대구대학교 창업지원단과 공동으로 2월 4일부터 5일까지 이틀간 경주와 포항 일원에서 '주한 EU 회원국 대사관 과학·디지털 참사관 초청 기술이전 설명회'를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 지난 APEC 국가기술사업대전을 계기로 구축된 주한 EU 대표부와의 협력 관계를 바탕으로 추진되는 POST-APEC 후속 협력 행사로, 경북 지역의 기술사업화 역량을 EU 회원국과 직접 연계하기 위한 실질적인 국제 교류의 장으로 마련됐다.

설명회에는 독일, 프랑스, 벨기에 등 EU 17개 회원국 소속 과학·디지털 참사관 및 외교관 22명이 참석해 경북 지역 연구기관, 대학, 기업과의 기술협력 및 공동 연구개발(R&D) 가능성을 논의할 예정이다.

행사 첫날인 4일에는 경주 국제문화교류관에서 기술보증기금의 기술이전 사업 소개를 시작으로, 경북TP의 지역 산업 육성 및 기술사업화 지원 전략, 대구대학교 창업지원단의 창업·사업화 프로그램 발표가 이어진다. 아울러 EU 대표부는 EU-한국 간 R&D 및 기업 협업 사례와 향후 협력 방향을 공유하며, 지역 기반 글로벌 협력 모델에 대한 심도 있는 논의를 진행한다.

이튿날인 5일에는 포항으로 이동해 경북TP 이차전지 종합관리센터, 포항가속기연구소, 포스텍 등 경북의 핵심 연구·산업 인프라를 차례로 방문한다. 이를 통해 EU 외교관들은 연구–산업–기업이 연계된 경북의 실증형 기술사업화 환경과 첨단 기술 기반을 현장에서 직접 확인할 예정이다. 특히 포스텍 체인지업그라운드와 입주기업인 ㈜베리워즈 방문을 통해 기술 기반 스타트업의 성장 과정과 글로벌 협력 가능성에 대해서도 의견을 나눌 계획이다.

경북TP는 이번 행사를 계기로 지역 기업의 글로벌 기술이전과 공동 R&D, 후속 사업화를 체계적으로 지원하고, EU 연구기관 및 기업과의 협력을 통해 기술 확보부터 실증, 사업화, 해외 시장 진출로 이어지는 전주기 협력 모델을 구체화해 나갈 방침이다.

하인성 경북TP 원장은 “이번 설명회는 경북의 기술과 산업 역량을 EU 회원국과 직접 연결하는 중요한 출발점”이라며 “지역 기업이 글로벌 시장에서 경쟁력을 확보할 수 있도록 기술사업화와 국제 협력을 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

경북TP는 이번 행사를 통해 경북을 글로벌 기술사업화 협력의 거점 지역으로 육성하고, 지역 산업의 지속 가능한 성장과 국제 협력 기반을 한층 강화할 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다.

Gyeongbuk Technology Partnership Program (TPP) Hosts Technology Transfer Briefing Session for EU Diplomats

Gyeongbuk Technopark (President Ha In-seong, hereinafter referred to as Gyeongbuk TP), in collaboration with the Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KOTIB), POSTECH, and Daegu University's Startup Support Team, announced that it will host a two-day "Technology Transfer Briefing Session for Science and Digital Counsellors from EU Member States' Embassies in Korea" in Gyeongju and Pohang on February 4th and 5th.

This event, a follow-up to the Post-APEC collaboration event built on the cooperative relationship established with the EU Delegations to Korea following the previous APEC National Technology Business Fair, is designed to serve as a practical international exchange platform for directly linking the Gyeongbuk region's technology commercialization capabilities with EU member states.

The briefing session will be attended by 22 science and digital counselors and diplomats from 17 EU member states, including Germany, France, and Belgium. They will discuss technological cooperation and joint research and development (R&D) opportunities with research institutes, universities, and companies in the Gyeongbuk region.

On the first day of the event, the 4th, the event will begin with an introduction to the Technology Transfer Program of the Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KOTIB) at the Gyeongju International Cultural Exchange Center. This will be followed by a presentation on the Gyeongbuk Technology Transfer Program (TP)'s regional industry development and technology commercialization support strategy, and a presentation on the startup and commercialization program of the Daegu University Startup Support Team. Furthermore, the EU delegation will share examples of EU-Korea R&D and corporate collaboration, as well as future directions for cooperation, and engage in in-depth discussions on regionally-based global cooperation models.

On the second day, the 5th, the EU diplomats will travel to Pohang and visit key research and industrial infrastructure in Gyeongbuk, including the Gyeongbuk Technology Transfer Program (TP) Secondary Battery Integrated Management Center, the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory, and POSTECH. Through these visits, the EU diplomats will firsthand witness Gyeongbuk's proven technology commercialization environment and cutting-edge technology foundation, fostering a research-industry-business ecosystem. They will also visit POSTECH ChangeUpground and its resident company, Berrywords Inc., to discuss the growth process of technology-based startups and the potential for global collaboration.

Gyeongbuk TP plans to use this event as an opportunity to systematically support global technology transfer, joint R&D, and follow-up commercialization for local companies. Through collaboration with EU research institutes and companies, the TP will develop a comprehensive, end-to-end collaboration model spanning technology acquisition, validation, commercialization, and overseas market entry.

Gyeongbuk TP Director Ha In-seong stated, "This briefing session marks a crucial starting point for directly connecting Gyeongbuk's technological and industrial capabilities with EU member states. We will actively support technology commercialization and international cooperation to help local companies secure competitiveness in the global market."

Gyeongbuk TP expects this event to foster Gyeongbuk as a hub for global technology commercialization cooperation, further strengthening the foundation for sustainable growth of local industries and international cooperation.
