【브레이크뉴스 경산】이성현 기자=대구대학교(총장 박순진) RISE사업단 해외인재유치센터는 지난 2일부터 6일까지 몽골 ‘경북학당’ 소속 고등학생을 초청해 ‘경북 문화체험 프로그램’을 운영했다고 밝혔다.

이번 프로그램은 경상북도 유학을 희망하는 몽골 학생들에게 지역과 대학의 교육 환경을 사전에 체험할 기회를 제공함으로써 유학 동기를 높이고, 한국 문화에 대한 이해와 적응력을 강화하기 위해 마련됐다. 초청 프로그램에는 몽골 현지 고등학교 교장과 울란바토르 경북학당 소장, 학생 등 총 24명이 참여했다.

참가 학생들은 4박 5일간 대구대학교 기숙사인 국제관에 머물며 다양한 체험 프로그램에 참여했다. 대학 캠퍼스 투어를 통해 도서관과 강의실, 각종 편의시설을 둘러보며 유학 생활을 간접 체험했으며, 한국어 기초 회화 수업과 한복 입기, 다도 체험 등 전통문화 프로그램에도 참여했다.

이와 함께 경상북도 주요 명소를 방문하며 지역 사회에 대한 이해를 넓혔다. 학생들은 경북도청을 찾아 경북의 역사와 도정 전반을 견학했으며, 안동 하회마을과 고령 가얏고 마을 등을 방문해 경북의 전통문화와 지역 특색을 체험했다.

이번 프로그램은 대구대 RISE사업단이 추진 중인 ‘해외 우수 인재 유치’ 사업의 일환으로, 몽골 경북학당과의 협력을 통해 우수 학생 풀(pool)을 조기에 발굴하고 지속 가능한 국제교류 기반을 구축하는 데 중점을 두고 기획됐다.

강수태 대구대 RISE사업단 해외유치센터장은 “이번 프로그램을 통해 몽골 학생들이 경북과 대구대의 교육 환경을 직접 확인하는 뜻깊은 시간이 됐다”며 “앞으로도 해외 우수 인재들이 지역에 안정적으로 정착해 학업을 이어갈 수 있도록 다양한 연계 프로그램을 확대해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

Daegu University Hosts 'Gyeongbuk Cultural Experience Program' with Mongolian Kyungbuk Academy Students

Daegu University (President Park Soon-jin) announced that it hosted the 'Gyeongbuk Cultural Experience Program' from the RISE Project's Overseas Talent Recruitment Center, inviting high school students from the Kyungbuk Academy in Mongolia from July 2nd to 6th.

This program was designed to provide Mongolian students hoping to study abroad in Gyeongsangbuk-do with an opportunity to experience the local and university educational environment in advance, thereby boosting their motivation to study abroad and strengthening their understanding and adaptability to Korean culture. A total of 24 participants, including Mongolian high school principals, the director of the Kyungbuk Academy in Ulaanbaatar, and students, participated in the program.

The participating students stayed at Daegu University's International Hall dormitory for five days and four nights and participated in various experiential programs. They experienced life abroad through a campus tour of the library, classrooms, and various amenities. They also participated in traditional cultural programs such as basic Korean conversation classes, hanbok (traditional Korean clothing) wearing, and tea ceremony experiences.

Furthermore, they visited major attractions in Gyeongsangbuk-do, deepening their understanding of the local community. Students visited the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office to learn about the history and administration of Gyeongbuk. They also visited Hahoe Village in Andong and Gayatgo Village in Goryeong, experiencing the region's traditional culture and regional characteristics.

This program, part of the "Attracting Talented Overseas" initiative of the Daegu University RISE Project, was designed to collaborate with the Gyeongbuk Institute of Education in Mongolia to identify a pool of talented students early on and establish a foundation for sustainable international exchange.

Kang Soo-tae, Director of the Overseas Attraction Center at the Daegu University RISE Project, said, "This program provided a meaningful opportunity for Mongolian students to firsthand experience the educational environment of Gyeongbuk and Daegu University. We will continue to expand various collaborative programs to ensure that outstanding overseas talent can settle in the region and continue their studies."
