브레이크뉴스 대구경북이 여론조사 전문기관 조원씨앤아이에 의뢰해 실시한 조사에서 영천 시민의 61.5%는 “새로운 인물이 당선되는 것이 좋다”고 응답했다. 반면 “현 시장이 한 번 더 당선되는 것이 좋다”는 응답은 34.3%로 나타났고, 모름 또는 무응답은 4.2%였다.

 전체 후보 선호도 조사에서는 무소속 최기문 현 시장 31.1%, 국민의힘 김병삼 예비후보 28.5%, 국민의힘 김섭 예비후보 20.6%, 더불어민주당 이정훈 예비후보 10.3%로 나타났다. 그 외 인물 1.3%, 지지 후보 없음 4.3%, 모름·무응답은 3.9%였다.

국민의힘 후보 두 명을 대상으로 한 선호도 조사에서는 김병삼 예비후보 37.1%, 김섭 예비후보 29.3%로 집계됐다. 지지 후보 없음은 23.4%, 모름·무응답은 10.2%였다.

 정당 지지도 조사에서는 국민의힘 60.4%, 더불어민주당 20.9%로 나타났다. 이어 조국혁신당 1.0%, 개혁신당 1.0%, 진보당 0.2%, 기타 정당 2.2%였으며, 지지 정당 없음 13.1%, 모름·무응답은 1.1%였다.

이번 조사는 브레이크뉴스 대구경북 의뢰로 조원씨앤아이가 2026년 3월 7일부터 8일까지 이틀간 경상북도 영천시에 거주하는 만 18세 이상 남녀를 대상으로 실시됐다. 조사 방식은 휴대전화 가상번호를 활용한 ARS 조사(100%)이며 성별·연령대·지역별 비례할당 무작위 추출 방식으로 진행됐다.
