【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=에코프로가 제46회 장애인의 날을 맞아 사업장이 위치한 포항과 청주 지역사회에서 다양한 나눔 활동을 펼치며 따뜻한 온정을 전했다.

에코프로는 지난 17일 포항시북부장애인종합복지관이 주관한 ‘북부에서, 함께라면’ 행사에 참여해 특식 배식 봉사와 물품 나눔 활동을 진행했다고 19일 밝혔다.

‘북부에서, 함께라면’ 행사는 지역사회에서 기부받은 라면을 장애인 봉사자들이 포항지역 장애인 단체와 아동복지기관에 직접 전달하는 행사로, 나눔 문화 확산을 위해 마련됐다.

이날 에코프로 임직원들은 봉사자로 함께 참여해 장애인과 보호자, 지역 주민 등 400여 명에게 점심 특식을 배식하며 지역민들과 소통하는 시간을 가졌다.

같은 날 청주에서는 장애인 체육 발전을 위한 후원 활동도 이어졌다. 에코프로는 장애인 선수들의 훈련 환경 개선과 사기 진작을 위해 충북장애인체육회에 기부금 2500만 원을 전달했다.

또 에코프로 산하 장애인 스포츠단인 온누리스포츠단 훈련장을 찾아 선수들에게 응원 간식을 전달하며 격려했다.

온누리스포츠단은 2019년 2월 충북 지역 기업 가운데 처음으로 창단한 장애인 스포츠단으로, 장애인 선수들이 안정적인 환경에서 훈련에 전념할 수 있도록 지원하고 지역사회 장애인 고용 창출에도 기여하고 있다.

에코프로 관계자는 “장애인의 날을 맞아 지역사회 구성원 모두가 편견 없이 어울리고 서로를 이해하는 뜻깊은 시간이 됐다”며 “앞으로도 지역사회와 상생할 수 있는 다양한 사회공헌활동을 지속해 긍정적인 변화를 만들어가겠다”고 말했다.

Established in February 2019, the Onnuri Sports Team is the first sports team for the disabled founded by a company in the Chungbuk region. It supports athletes so they can focus on training in a stable environment and contributes to job creation for the disabled in the local community.
