【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 중구가 주최하고 달성문화선양회가 주관하는 ‘2026년 제37회 동성로축제’가 오는 5월 8일부터 10일까지 동성로 일대에서 열린다.

올해 동성로축제는 시민들의 참여를 한층 넓히고, 다채로운 문화 콘텐츠를 통해 도심에 활기를 불어넣겠다는 목표로 준비됐다. 먹거리 부스, 플리마켓, 거리 공연은 물론 동성로가요제와 밴드 공연, 다양한 체험형 이벤트까지 축제장을 찾는 이들을 위해 다채로운 프로그램이 마련된다.

축제의 시작을 알리는 전야제는 8일 오후 1시부터 9시까지 열린다. 동성로 곳곳에서 생활예술인들의 공연과 거리 피아노 연주가 펼쳐지며, 시민들이 자유롭게 축제 분위기를 만끽할 수 있다. 

본격적인 개막행사는 9일 오후 5시 30분, 동성로28 아트스퀘어 메인무대에서 진행된다. 이 자리에서는 동성로가요제, 밴드 공연, 마술과 댄스 공연, 그리고 맥주 빨리 마시기 대회 등 다채로운 무대가 이어진다.

동성로 전 구간은 A부터 D까지 4개 구역으로 나뉘어, 플리마켓과 각종 체험 및 전시, 홍보 부스가 운영된다. 지역 소상공인과 청년 예술인이 함께 참여해 상생을 도모하는 축제라는 점이 올해의 특징이다.

특히 5월 9일부터 10일까지는 동성로 상점에서 2만 원 이상 구매한 영수증을 축제 종합안내소(맥도날드 동성로 2호점 앞)에 제시하면 이벤트 상품으로 교환할 수 있는 특별 이벤트도 마련될 예정이다.

중구 관계자는 “동성로축제가 시민과 관광객 모두가 함께 즐길 수 있는 대표 도심 축제로 자리매김할 수 있도록 안전하고 내실 있게 준비하겠다”고 전했다.
