【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=국민의힘 경북도당 공천관리위원회가 지난 29일 구미, 상주, 문경 지역의 광역·기초의원 및 비례대표 후보 공천을 확정하며 본격적인 지방선거 체제로 전환하고 있다.

국민의힘에 따르면 구미시(을) 지역 공천은 서류 심사, 공개 정견발표, 외부 전문가 면접, 필요 시 경선 등 단계별로 철저한 검증 과정을 거쳤다. 

이는 후보자의 자질과 경쟁력을 다방면에서 꼼꼼히 확인하기 위한 절차라는 설명이다.

특히 지난 4일에는 후보자들이 공개적으로 정책과 비전을 발표했고, 19일에는 외부 전문가 면접이 이어졌다. 

이 과정에서 후보들은 정책에 대한 이해도와 지역 현안에 대한 인식, 의정 활동을 수행할 역량 등에서 평가를 받았다. 

면접 심사는 정치, 행정, 청년, 지역사회 등 다양한 분야에서 활동하는 전문가 8명으로 이루어진 심사위원단이 맡았다.

강명구 구미시(을) 당협위원장은 “특정 결론을 미리 정해놓지 않고, 정해진 기준과 절차에 따라 공정하게 후보를 검증했다”며 “이제는 당내 경쟁을 뒤로하고 구미 발전을 위해 모두가 힘을 모아야 할 때”라고 강조했다.

The interview evaluations were conducted by a panel of eight experts active in diverse fields, including politics, administration, youth, and local communities. Kang Myeong-gu, Chairman of the Gumi City (Eul) Party Committee, emphasized, “We did not predetermine a specific conclusion and fairly vetted the candidate according to established standards and procedures,” adding, “Now is the time to put internal party competition aside and unite our efforts for the development of Gumi.”
