【브레이크뉴스 경주】이성현 기자=대구지방고용노동청이 경북 경주지역의 잇따른 사망사고에 대응해 중대재해 예방을 위한 대규모 현장 점검에 나섰다.
대구지방고용노동청은 4월 29일 안전보건공단과 함께 경주지역을 대상으로 합동 집중 패트롤을 실시한다고 밝혔다.
올해 경북지역 산업재해 사고사망자는 16명으로, 전년도 급증 수준과 유사한 상황이다. 특히 경주시에서는 최근 작업대 와이어 파단에 따른 추락, 지게차 협착, 굴착기 작업 중 매몰, 사다리 추락, 저장탱크 끼임 등 총 5건의 사망사고가 연이어 발생하며 위험성이 높아지고 있다.
이에 따라 대구노동청은 경주를 산재 고위험 지역으로 지정하고, 대구청과 포항지청, 안전보건공단 등 50여 명과 패트롤카 25대를 투입해 두류산업단지, 천북산업단지, 주요 건설현장 등을 중심으로 대대적인 합동 점검을 벌인다.
점검에서는 ▴추락·끼임 등 중대재해 주요 위험요인에 대한 예방조치 ▴위험기계·기구 관리 상태 ▴밀폐공간 안전관리 실태 등을 집중적으로 확인할 계획이다. 아울러 현장 계도를 통해 사업주의 자율적인 안전관리 강화와 지역 내 안전의식 제고를 유도한다는 방침이다.
황종철 청장은 “사망사고 예방을 위해 사업주는 사전에 위험성 평가를 철저히 실시하고, 작업 과정에서 노동자들이 안전수칙을 준수하는지 반드시 확인해야 한다”고 강조했다.

The inspection plans to focus on verifying: ▴preventive measures regarding major risk factors for serious accidents, such as falls and entrapment; ▴the management status of hazardous machinery and equipment; and ▴the actual state of safety management in confined spaces. In addition, the office intends to encourage employers to strengthen autonomous safety management and raise safety awareness within the region through on-site guidance.
Director Hwang Jong-cheol emphasized, “To prevent fatal accidents, employers must conduct thorough risk assessments in advance and ensure that workers comply with safety regulations during the work process.”
