【브레이크뉴스 경산】진예솔 기자=더불어민주당 김기현 경산시장 예비후보가 5월 3일 선거대책위원회인 ‘053 캠프’ 개소식을 열고 본격적인 선거 레이스를 시작했다.

김 후보는 이날 경북 경산시 원효로 국제빌딩에서 열린 캠프 출범식에서 “‘053’은 단순한 숫자가 아니라 대구와 경북을 연결하는 초광역 협력의 상징”이라며 필승 의지를 드러냈다. 

‘053’이라는 캠프명에는 대구 지역 전화번호, ‘5극 3특’ 국가 전략, 그리고 53% 득표 목표 등 다양한 의미가 담겼다고 설명했다.

이날 행사장에는 임미애, 오중기, 염태영 등을 비롯한 더불어민주당 관계자들이 참석해 힘을 보탰다. 

김 후보는 “경산은 행정구역상 경북이지만, 일상생활은 대구와 밀접하게 이어져 있다”며 “대구·경북 행정통합과 초광역 협력의 중심으로 경산을 키우겠다”고 강조했다.

현장에서는 청년과 학부모들이 지역의 정주 여건 개선을 요구하기도 했다. 이에 김 후보는 “문화예술을 기반으로 한 청년 정책과 아이 돌봄 정책으로 도시의 삶의 질을 높이겠다”고 답했다. 

이어 “53% 이상의 압도적인 득표로 시민들의 기대에 반드시 부응하겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.

Kim Ki-hyun, the Democratic Party of Korea's preliminary candidate for Mayor of Gyeongsan, held an opening ceremony for his election campaign committee, "053 Camp," on May 3, officially launching his election race.

At the launch ceremony held at the International Building on Wonhyo-ro in Gyeongsan, North Gyeongsang Province, Candidate Kim expressed his determination to win, stating, "'053' is not just a number, but a symbol of super-regional cooperation connecting Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province."

He explained that the name "053" embodies various meanings, including the Daegu regional phone number, the "5-Point 3-Special" national strategy, and a target of 53% of the vote.

Officials from the Democratic Party of Korea, including Lim Mi-ae, Oh Jung-ki, and Yeom Tae-young, attended the event to lend their support.

Candidate Kim emphasized, "Although Gyeongsan is administratively part of North Gyeongsang Province, daily life is closely connected to Daegu," adding, "I will develop Gyeongsan into the center of administrative integration and super-regional cooperation between Daegu and North Gyeongsang." At the site, young people and parents also called for improvements to the local living conditions. In response, Candidate Kim replied, “I will enhance the quality of life in the city through youth policies and childcare policies based on culture and the arts.”

He further expressed his ambition, stating, “I will certainly live up to the citizens’ expectations with an overwhelming majority of over 53% of the votes.”
