【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=경상북도농업기술원이 대구시교육청과 경북도교육청 연수원으로부터 교원 특수분야 연수기관으로 4년 연속 지정되며 치유농업 분야 전문성을 다시 한 번 입증했다.

경북농업기술원은 지난 2023년부터 대구·경북 교육청 교직원을 대상으로 ‘마음챙김 치유농업’ 직무연수 프로그램을 운영해 왔으며, 참여자들의 두뇌 컨디션이 평균 16.86% 개선되는 성과를 거뒀다고 밝혔다.

실제 연수에 참여한 한 교사는 “업무와 일상에서 쌓인 긴장과 스트레스를 자연 속에서 해소하고, 식물 가꾸기 활동을 통해 심리적 안정을 얻을 수 있었다”며 높은 만족도를 나타냈다.

올해 연수는 총 10기, 176명을 대상으로 운영될 예정으로, 2023년(3기 36명) 대비 약 5배 확대된 규모다. 상반기 과정은 5월 2일부터 7월 11일까지 총 6기에 걸쳐 진행된다.

프로그램은 경북치유농업센터와 성주군 ‘하하수미’ 등 치유농업사 자격을 보유한 농장에서 운영되며, 텃밭 가꾸기와 원예활동 등 농업 기반 체험과 심리 치유 프로그램이 결합된 형태로 구성된다.

조영숙 경상북도농업기술원장은 “농업과 농촌은 단순 생산을 넘어 건강 증진과 휴식을 제공하는 치유 자원으로서 가치가 높아지고 있다”며 “앞으로도 다양한 계층이 참여할 수 있는 프로그램을 확대해 도민이 체감할 수 있는 치유농업을 지속적으로 발전시켜 나가겠다”고 말했다.

한편 경북농업기술원은 경북행복재단과 협력해 정신·발달장애인 등 돌봄이 필요한 주민을 대상으로 치유농업 서비스를 제공하고 있으며, 2022년 전국 최초로 ‘치유농업센터’를 구축해 관련 산업의 체계적 지원과 서비스 품질 향상에 힘쓰고 있다. 또한 농업과 산림, 해양 등 지역 관광자원을 연계한 융복합 치유농업 활성화 기반 조성에도 박차를 가하고 있다.

The Gyeongbuk Agricultural Research & Extension Services has once again demonstrated its expertise in the field of healing agriculture by being designated as a specialized training institution for teachers for four consecutive years by the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education and the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education Training Institute.

The Gyeongbuk Agricultural Research & Extension Services announced that it has been operating a "Mindfulness Healing Agriculture" professional development program for teachers and staff of the Daegu and Gyeongbuk Offices of Education since 2023, achieving results in an average 16.86% improvement in participants' brain condition.

One teacher who actually participated in the training expressed high satisfaction, stating, "I was able to relieve the tension and stress accumulated from work and daily life in nature, and gain psychological stability through plant cultivation activities."

This year's training is scheduled to be conducted for a total of 176 participants across 10 sessions, an expansion of approximately five times compared to 2023 (3 sessions, 36 participants). The first half of the course will be conducted in a total of six sessions from May 2 to July 11.

The program is operated by farms holding Healing Agriculture Specialist qualifications, such as the Gyeongbuk Healing Agriculture Center and ‘Hahasumi’ in Seongju-gun, and is structured to combine agriculture-based experiences, such as vegetable gardening and horticultural activities, with psychological healing programs.

Jo Young-sook, Director of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services, stated, “Agriculture and rural areas are gaining value as healing resources that provide health promotion and relaxation, going beyond simple production.” She added, “We will continue to expand programs that allow diverse groups to participate and continuously develop healing agriculture that residents can truly experience.”

Meanwhile, the Gyeongbuk Agricultural Research and Extension Services, in cooperation with the Gyeongbuk Happiness Foundation, provides healing agriculture services to residents in need of care, such as those with mental or developmental disabilities.

Furthermore, having established the nation's first ‘Healing Agriculture Center’ in 2022, the institute is striving to provide systematic support for related industries and improve service quality. In addition, efforts are being made to establish a foundation for the revitalization of convergence healing agriculture by linking local tourism resources such as agriculture, forests, and the ocean.
