선린대학교(총장직무대행 전경국)는 지난 5월 5일 포항 만인당 옆 잔디광장에서 열린 ‘제104회 2026 포항 어린이날 큰잔치’에 교직원과 재학생 50명이 참여해 다양한 자원봉사 활동을 펼쳤다고 밝혔다.

이날 선린봉사학습센터를 중심으로 참여자들은 행사장 내 교통정리와 운영 보조를 맡아 원활한 행사 진행을 도왔으며, 대학 홍보부스에서는 풍선과 머랭쿠키, 키캡, 비타민 나눔 등 체험형 프로그램을 운영해 어린이와 가족 단위 방문객들의 호응을 얻었다.

특히 응급구조과 재학생들은 어린이를 대상으로 심폐소생술(CPR) 교육을 실시해 안전의식을 높이고 실생활에 유용한 체험 기회를 제공하며 큰 관심을 끌었다.

전경국 총장직무대행은 “대학이 보유한 역량을 지역사회를 위해 나눌 수 있어 뜻깊다”며 “‘선한이웃’ 선린대학교는 앞으로도 지역과 함께하며 지속적인 봉사와 사회공헌 활동을 이어가겠다”고 말했다.

Sunlin University Volunteers at Pohang Children's Day Festival… Practicing Community Sharing

Sunlin University embarked on volunteer activities to engage with the local community in celebration of Children's Day.

Sunlin University (Acting President Jeon Gyeong-guk) announced that 50 faculty members and students participated in various volunteer activities at the "104th 2026 Pohang Children's Day Festival," held on May 5 at the lawn plaza next to Manindang in Pohang.

On this day, led by the Sunlin Volunteer Learning Center, participants assisted with traffic control and operational support within the venue to ensure the smooth running of the event. Additionally, the university's promotional booth operated hands-on programs, such as distributing balloons, meringue cookies, keycaps, and vitamins, receiving a positive response from children and visiting families.

In particular, students from the Department of Emergency Medical Services attracted significant attention by conducting Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training for children, raising safety awareness and providing practical hands-on experience useful in real life.

Acting President Jeon Kyung-guk stated, “It is meaningful to be able to share the university’s capabilities with the local community,” adding, “‘Good Neighbor’ Sunlin University will continue to work together with the region and carry out ongoing volunteer work and social contribution activities.”
