이번 협약은 경북 권역 내 의료취약계층에 대한 필수의료 지원을 강화하고, 공공보건의료 협력체계를 보다 공고히 하기 위해 마련됐다.

'건강돌봄 의료지원 사업'은 칠곡경북대학교병원이 안동·김천·포항의료원을 이용하는 저소득 환자를 대상으로 진료와 의료비를 지원하는 사업이다. 지원 대상은 의료급여수급권자와 차상위계층, 기준중위소득 75% 이하 가구 등이며, 연간 1인당 최대 200만 원까지 지원된다. 사업은 2026년 연중 지속적으로 추진될 예정이다.

양 기관은 이번 협약을 통해 ▲취약계층 환자 조기 발굴 및 의료지원 연계 ▲공공보건의료 협력체계 강화 ▲3차 의료기관 진료 연계 지원 ▲의료서비스 및 정보 공유 확대 등 의료안전망 구축을 위한 협력에 나서기로 했다.

이국현 안동의료원장은 “이번 협약은 지역 내 의료취약계층을 보다 촘촘하게 보호하기 위한 의료안전망 구축의 출발점”이라며 “앞으로도 권역책임의료기관과의 협력을 통해 전문 진료 연계와 공공의료 역할을 더욱 강화해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

Gyeongsangbuk-do Andong Medical Center (Director Lee Guk-hyeon) signed a business agreement with Chilgok Kyungpook National University Hospital on May 4 at the Andong Medical Center to promote the "Health Care Medical Support Project."

This agreement was established to strengthen essential medical support for the medically vulnerable within the Gyeongbuk region and to further solidify the public health and medical cooperation system.

The "Health Care Medical Support Project" is a program in which Chilgok Kyungpook National University Hospital provides medical treatment and medical expense support to low-income patients utilizing the Andong, Gimcheon, and Pohang Medical Centers. Eligible recipients include Medical Aid recipients, the near-poverty group, and households with an income at or below 75% of the standard median income, with support provided up to a maximum of 2 million won per person annually. The project is scheduled to be implemented continuously throughout 2026.

Through this agreement, the two institutions have agreed to cooperate in establishing a medical safety net by focusing on early identification of vulnerable patients and linking them with medical support, strengthening the public health cooperation system, supporting referrals to tertiary medical institutions, and expanding the sharing of medical services and information.

Lee Guk-hyun, Director of Andong Medical Center, stated, “This agreement marks the starting point for building a medical safety net to provide more comprehensive protection for the medically vulnerable in the region,” adding, “We will continue to strengthen our role in public healthcare and the linkage of specialized medical care through cooperation with the regional responsible medical institution.”
