【브레이크뉴스 청도】이성현 기자=재단법인 청도군인재육성장학회(이사장 권한대행 김동기)는 2026년도 장학생을 선발하고 장학금 지급을 완료했다고 밝혔다.
이번 장학생 선발은 학교장 추천 방식으로, 지난 3월 공고 및 신청 접수를시작으로 4월 중 심사를 거쳐 최종 확정되었으며, 총 353명을 선발해 1억6,950만원의 장학금을 지급하였다.
선발 분야는 중·고·대 입학성적 우수 학생을 위한 ‘진학우수 장학생’, 기초생활수급자 등을 위한 ‘희망 장학생’, 전국·도 단위 대회 입상자를 위한 ‘특기 장학생’, 두 자녀 이상 가구 학생을 위한 ‘다자녀 장학생’ 등7개 분야로, 초등학생 89명, 중학생 122명, 고등학생 109명, 대학 신입생11명이 장학생으로 선정되었다. 장학회는 이번 장학금 지원이 학생들의학업 의욕을 높이고 교육비 부담 경감에도 도움이 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
2008년 설립된 장학회는 2009년부터 올해까지 총 3,000여 명에게 약 15억 원의 장학금을 지원해 왔으며, 장학생 선발 외에도 명문고 육성사업, 방과후 수업지원 등 다양한 교육지원 사업을 추진하며 연간 약 7억 원 규모의 장학사업을 운영하고 있다.
장학회 이사장(청도군수) 권한대행은 “학생 한 사람 한 사람의 가능성이지역의 미래로 이어진다는 믿음으로 장학사업을 추진하고 있다”며 “앞으로도 보다 실질적인 지원을 통해 지역 인재들이 자신의 역량을 충분히 펼칠수 있는 환경 조성에 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.

The selection categories were divided into seven areas, including ‘Outstanding College Entrance Scholarships’ for students with excellent entrance exam scores in middle school, high school, and university; ‘Hope Scholarships’ for recipients of basic livelihood support; ‘Special Talent Scholarships’ for winners of national and provincial competitions; and ‘Multi-Child Family Scholarships’ for students from households with two or more children. A total of 89 elementary school students, 122 middle school students, 109 high school students, and 11 university freshmen were selected as scholarship recipients. The Scholarship Foundation expects that this scholarship support will boost students' academic motivation and help alleviate the burden of educational expenses.
Established in 2008, the Foundation has provided approximately 1.5 billion won in scholarships to a total of over 3,000 students from 2009 to this year. In addition to selecting scholarship recipients, the Foundation promotes various educational support projects, such as the project to foster prestigious high schools and support for after-school classes, and operates a scholarship program worth approximately 700 million won annually.
The acting chairman of the scholarship foundation (Cheongdo County Governor) said, “We are pursuing scholarship programs with the belief that the potential of each and every student leads to the future of the region,” adding, “We will continue to strive to create an environment where local talents can fully unleash their capabilities through more practical support.”
