【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=영남 지역 7대 문중 연합 모임인 ‘유종회(維宗會)’가 10일 대구 달서구 병암서원에서 제44회 정기총회를 열었다.

이날 행사에는 국민의힘 추경호 대구시장 후보와 류성걸 전 국회의원 등 주요 인사와 회원 300여 명이 참석해 친목을 다지고 화합을 도모했다.

추경호 후보는 인사말을 통해 “영남 7대 문중 유종회는 대한민국 국난 극복에 앞장섰던 유림 명문가들의 모임으로, 선현들의 학덕과 유업을 이어받아 오늘날 우리 사회에 깊은 교훈을 전하고 있다”고 말했다. 이어 “우리 조상들의 선비정신은 서양의 ‘노블레스 오블리주’와 견줄 만하다”며, “훌륭한 선조들의 가르침을 본받아 저 또한 정쟁이 아닌 정책 경쟁으로 대구시장 선거에 임하겠다”고 강조했다. 또 “대구 경제를 다시 힘차게 뛰게 만드는 경제시장 되겠다”고 다짐했다.

유종회는 1980년 창립된 이후 여강이씨 유심회, 의성김씨 청류회, 인동장씨 인의회, 재령이씨 자미회, 전주류씨 기산회, 진성이씨 동인회, 풍산류씨 부용회 등 영남 7개 문중이 함께하고 있다.

이번 총회 유사로 참석한 이장희 자미회 회장(신경외과 전문의)은 “46년간 이어온 유종회는 단순한 친목 모임을 넘어, 선조들의 뜻과 뿌리를 지키며 후손들에게 올바른 정신과 가치를 전하는 중요한 공동체”라고 밝혔다.

초청 특강에 나선 이희범 전 산업자원부 장관은 “우리 정신문화는 다양한 이념을 받아들이고 끊임없이 연구한 끝에 완성된 고유한 유산”이라며, “도덕과 윤리가 살아 숨 쉬는 사회를 만드는데 힘써 달라”고 당부했다.

이날 정기총회는 영남 유림 명문가들이 한자리에 모여 전통 정신을 계승하고, 지역사회 발전과 화합의 의지를 다지는 의미 깊은 자리로 마무리됐다.

The ‘Yujonghoe,’ a coalition of the seven major clans of the Yeongnam region, held its 44th regular general meeting on the 10th at Byeongam Seowon in Dalseo-gu, Daegu.

Lee Jang-hee, President of the Jamihoe (a neurosurgeon) who attended the general assembly as an advisor, stated, "The Yujonghoe, which has continued for 46 years, is more than just a social gathering; it is an important community that preserves the will and roots of our ancestors and transmits the right spirit and values ​​to future generations."

Lee Hee-beom, former Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy, who delivered a special invited lecture, remarked, "Our spiritual culture is a unique legacy perfected through the acceptance of diverse ideologies and ceaseless research," and urged the members to "strive to create a society where morality and ethics are alive and breathing." The regular general meeting concluded as a meaningful gathering where prominent Confucian families from the Yeongnam region came together to uphold traditional spirit and reaffirm their commitment to the development and harmony of the local community.
