【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=미래 유권자인 청소년들을 위한 ‘6·3 투표 페스타 다와락’이 지난 9일 대구에서 성황리에 개최됐다. 이번 행사는 대구행복진흥사회서비스원과 대구광역시청소년문화의집 꼼지락발전소가 주관하고, 대구시선거관리위원회가 주최했다.

6월 3일 열리는 제9회 전국동시지방선거를 앞두고 마련된 이 행사는 청소년들이 선거와 민주주의의 가치를 자연스럽게 체험할 수 있도록 기획됐다.

‘참여·연대·화합’을 주제로 한 이번 행사는 7개의 체험 부스와 3개의 참여형 미술 활동으로 구성됐다. 특히 패턴 테이프를 활용한 미술 체험에서는 청소년들이 저마다의 개성을 담은 작품을 만들며 다양한 색과 형태가 조화를 이루는 과정을 경험, 공존과 다양성의 의미를 직접 느꼈다.

희망 메시지를 담는 모빌 만들기 시간에는 청소년들이 미래 사회에 대한 기대와 바람을 함께 나누는 모습도 눈길을 끌었다.

이 밖에도 선거 이후 폐기되는 현수막을 재활용한 ‘업사이클 파우치 꾸미기’ 활동이 큰 인기를 끌었다. 참가한 청소년들은 현수막이 새로운 물건으로 다시 태어나는 과정을 직접 체험하며 자원 순환과 사회적 가치의 중요성에 대해 배우는 시간을 가졌다.

최희재 대구행복진흥사회서비스원 원장 직무대행은 “청소년들이 이번 행사를 계기로 투표를 단순한 절차가 아닌 사회와 이어지는 소중한 참여 과정으로 인식하길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 미래 유권자들이 민주주의를 일상에서 자연스럽게 경험할 수 있도록 다양한 프로그램을 준비하겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 이날 행사에는 지역 주민과 청소년 등 1,000여 명이 참여해 활기찬 분위기 속에서 진행됐으며, 미래 유권자들이 민주주의 감수성을 키우는 계기가 됐다는 평가가 나왔다.
