지역에서는 올해 처음 마련된 소아암 가족운동회로, 소아암 환아 가족 30가정을 비롯해 봉사자와 후원자, 협회 임직원 등 약 150명이 참여해 웃음과 응원이 가득한 시간을 함께했다.

행사는 가족이 함께 즐길 수 있는 다양한 게임과 레크리에이션, 풍성한 경품 이벤트로 진행돼 큰 호응을 얻었다. 특히 치료 과정 속에서 몸과 마음이 지쳐 있던 아이들과 가족들이 마음껏 뛰어놀고 소리치며 스트레스를 해소하는 뜻깊은 시간이 됐다.

무엇보다 환아와 부모뿐 아니라 조부모, 형제자매, 친인척까지 함께 참여해 가족 모두가 하나 되는 화합의 장이 됐으며, 후원자와 봉사자, 협회 관계자들이 자연스럽게 어우러져 서로를 응원하고 격려하는 공동체의 모습을 보여줬다.

정영재 지회장은 “아이들과 가족들이 치료의 어려움을 잠시 내려놓고 마음껏 웃고 즐길 수 있는 시간이 되었길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 소아암 가족들이 서로 힘이 되고 함께 웃을 수 있는 다양한 프로그램을 지속적으로 마련하겠다”고 말했다.
