계명대는 지난 13일과 14일 이틀간 성서캠퍼스 체육관에서 열린 이번 행사에 총 1,800여 명이 참여하며 높은 관심을 보였다고 밝혔다. 행사는 청년들의 사회 진출을 지원하고 실질적인 취업 역량을 높이기 위해 마련됐다.

행사 첫날인 13일에는 고용노동부 대학일자리플러스센터 사업에 참여하는 계명대를 비롯해 계명문화대학교, 영남이공대학교, 영진전문대학교 등 4개 대학과 지역고용센터, 대구광역시원스톱일자리지원센터가 공동 주관한 ‘2026 청년이음 일자리 박람회’가 열렸다.

박람회에는 한국지능정보사회진흥원, iM뱅크, 한미약품, 트리니티항공 등 공공기관과 기업 36개 기관이 참여해 다양한 채용 및 진로 정보를 제공했다.

행사장에는 기업 인사담당자와 1대1 취업 상담을 진행하는 ‘일자리이음관’, 청년고용정책과 취업 지원 정보를 안내하는 ‘정보이음관’, 체험형 프로그램 중심의 ‘소통이음관’이 운영돼 참가자들의 호응을 얻었다.

14일에는 계명대 대표 취업 지원 프로그램인 ‘계명 멘토데이’가 이어졌다. 공공기관과 자동차, 전기, 유통, 항공 등 다양한 산업 분야에서 활동 중인 졸업 동문 34명이 멘토로 참여해 후배들과 직접 만나 직무 경험과 조직문화, 채용 준비 과정 등을 공유했다.

참가 학생들은 현직 선배들의 생생한 경험담을 통해 직무별 요구 역량과 진로 설계 방향에 대한 이해를 높이는 시간을 가졌다.

경제금융학과 4학년에 재학 중인 안성모 학생은 “기업 인사담당자와 졸업 선배들을 직접 만나 상담을 받으며 취업 준비 방향을 보다 구체화할 수 있었다”며 “현장의 실질적인 이야기를 들을 수 있어 진로 설계에 큰 도움이 됐다”고 말했다.

최해운 학생처장 겸 대학일자리플러스센터장은 “이번 행사가 학생들이 채용시장 변화와 산업 현장의 흐름을 이해하고 실질적인 취업 역량을 강화하는 계기가 됐기를 바란다”며 “앞으로도 학생 수요와 채용 트렌드를 반영한 맞춤형 취업 지원 프로그램을 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편 계명대 대학일자리플러스센터는 고용노동부 주관 대학일자리플러스센터 사업과 대학·고교 재학생 맞춤형 고용서비스, 졸업생 특화 프로그램, 일자리 첫걸음 보장센터 사업 등을 운영하며 재학생과 졸업생은 물론 지역 고교생과 미취업 청년까지 아우르는 취업 지원 서비스를 확대하고 있다.

2019년부터 이어져 온 ‘계명 멘토데이’는 이번까지 총 9차례 개최되며 지역 청년들의 진로 탐색과 취업 경쟁력 향상에 꾸준히 기여하고 있다.

Keimyung University successfully concluded the ‘2026 Youth Eum Job Fair’ and the ‘2026 Spring Semester Keimyung Mentor Day,’ events organized to enhance the employment competitiveness of current students, graduates, and local youth.

Keimyung University announced that a total of over 1,800 people participated in the event, held over two days on the 13th and 14th at the Seongseo Campus Gymnasium, demonstrating high interest. The event was organized to support young people’s entry into society and to enhance their practical employment capabilities.

On the 13th, the first day of the event, the ‘2026 Youth Eum Job Fair’ was held. It was jointly organized by four universities—including Keimyung University, which participates in the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s University Job Plus Center project, as well as Keimyung Culture University, Yeungnam University of Science and Technology, and Yeongjin College—along with local employment centers and the Daegu Metropolitan City One-Stop Job Support Center. Thirty-six public institutions and companies, including the Korea Intelligent Information Society Agency, iM Bank, Hanmi Pharmaceutical, and Trinity Aviation, participated in the fair to provide diverse recruitment and career information.

The venue featured the "Job Connection Hall," where participants could engage in one-on-one job counseling with corporate HR managers; the "Information Connection Hall," which provided information on youth employment policies and job support; and the "Communication Connection Hall," centered on experiential programs, all of which received a positive response from participants.

On the 14th, "Keimyung Mentor Day," Keimyung University's flagship career support program, took place. Thirty-four alumni currently active in various industries—including public institutions, automotive, electrical, retail, and aviation—participated as mentors, meeting directly with their juniors to share their job experiences, organizational culture, and recruitment preparation processes.

Participating students had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the competencies required for specific roles and career planning directions through the vivid accounts of their alumni. An Seong-mo, a senior in the Department of Economics and Finance, said, “I was able to refine my job preparation direction by meeting and counseling directly with corporate HR managers and alumni,” adding, “Hearing practical stories from the field was a great help in planning my career path.”

Choi Hae-woon, Dean of Student Affairs and Director of the University Job Plus Center, stated, “I hope this event served as an opportunity for students to understand changes in the recruitment market and trends in the industrial field, and to strengthen their practical job-seeking capabilities,” adding, “We will continue to expand customized employment support programs that reflect student demand and hiring trends.”

Meanwhile, Keimyung University’s University Job Plus Center is expanding its employment support services to encompass not only current students and graduates but also local high school students and unemployed youth by operating the University Job Plus Center project organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, customized employment services for university and high school students, specialized programs for graduates, and the Job First Step Guarantee Center project. The ‘Keimyung Mentor Day,’ which has been held since 2019, has been held a total of nine times up to this point and continues to contribute to career exploration and the improvement of employment competitiveness for local youth.
