대구에서도 이수찬 대구시장 후보를 중심으로 총 13명의 후보가 지역 선거전에 돌입했다.
16일 이수찬 대구시장 후보 캠프에 따르면, 개혁신당은 이번 지방선거에서 광역단체장 7명, 기초단체장 22명, 광역의원 30명, 기초의원 128명 등 총 192명의 후보를 등록했다.
특히 전체 후보 중 2030 세대 비율이 45.3%로, 청년층의 비중이 두드러진 것이 특징이다. 평균 연령은 45세였으며, 여성 후보 비율은 18.2%로 집계됐다.
지역별로 살펴보면, 서울에서 51명, 경기 49명, 대구와 충남 각각 13명 등 전국 주요 지역에 후보를 배치했다.
대구에서는 이수찬 대구시장 후보와 함께 서운교(수성구3) 광역의원 후보가 출마한다. 기초의원 후보로는 박종길(달서구 다), 우영훈(달성군 가), 우성원(달성군 다), 박철현(동구 다), 서명교(수성구 가), 오태훈(수성구 라), 최윤석(수성구 마), 성진영(중구 가) 등이 이름을 올렸다.
비례대표 후보로는 광역비례 최이향, 진성학 후보와, 수성구 기초비례 후보 등이 포함됐다.
개혁신당은 이번 선거를 통해 기존 양당 중심의 정치 구도를 넘어서, 청년과 실무형 인재 중심의 새로운 지역정치 모델을 만들겠다는 포부를 밝혔다.
이수찬 시장 후보 캠프 측은 “기득권 양당 중심의 낡은 지방정치를 바꾸고, 청년과 실무형 인재들이 지역 혁신의 주체가 되도록 하겠다”고 전했다. 이어 “이번 지방선거를 통해 새로운 정치세대의 가능성을 시민들에게 보여주고, 이수찬 후보를 중심으로 대구지역의 새로운 정치지형을 반드시 만들어나가겠다”며 강한 의지를 드러냈다.

Candidates for local councilors include Park Jong-gil (Dalseo-gu C), Woo Young-hoon (Dalseong-gun A), Woo Seong-won (Dalseong-gun C), Park Cheol-hyun (Dong-gu C), Seo Myung-kyo (Suseong-gu A), Oh Tae-hoon (Suseong-gu D), Choi Yoon-seok (Suseong-gu E), and Seong Jin-young (Jung-gu A).
Proportional representation candidates include metropolitan proportional representatives Choi Yi-hyang and Jin Seong-hak, as well as a candidate for local proportional representation in Suseong-gu.
The New Reform Party expressed its ambition to use this election to move beyond the existing two-party-centered political structure and create a new regional political model centered on youth and practical talent.
Mayoral candidate Lee Soo-chan's camp stated, "We will change the outdated local politics dominated by the vested interests of the two parties and ensure that youth and practical talent become the agents of regional innovation." He went on to express strong determination, saying, “Through this local election, we will show the citizens the potential of a new political generation and definitely create a new political landscape in the Daegu region centered around Candidate Lee Su-chan.”
