오 후보는 이날 새벽 영천 5일장을 시작으로 선산 5일장과 의성 5일장을 차례로 찾았다. 장터에서 상인과 주민들을 만나 지역 경기 침체와 물가 부담 등에 대한 현장 목소리를 청취했다.

오 후보는 시장 상인들과 만나 “경북 경제가 활력을 되찾기 위해서는 산업과 민생 전반의 대전환이 필요하다”며 “도민들이 체감할 수 있는 정책으로 지역 경제를 살리겠다”고 말했다.

오후에는 포항으로 이동해 당내 결속과 정책 소통 행보를 이어갔다. 오 후보는 오후 3시 30분 박희정 포항시장 후보 선거사무소 개소식에 참석해 “포항의 변화와 경북 발전을 위해 원팀으로 힘을 모아 승리하자”며 지지를 호소했다.

이어 포항 북구 선거사무실에서는 노동계와 정책 간담회를 진행했다. 오 후보는 언론노조 대경협의회와 정책 전달식을 가진 데 이어 전국공무원노조 대경본부로부터 정책 건의서를 전달받았다.

오 후보는 간담회에서 “공공 서비스의 질을 높이고 노동의 가치가 존중받는 경북을 만들기 위해 현장의 의견을 적극 반영하겠다”며 “노동자와 공무원들의 정책 제안을 면밀히 검토하겠다”고 밝혔다.

오 후보는 “선거일까지 경북 곳곳을 직접 찾아 도민들과 만나겠다”며 “이재명 대통령과 함께 경북의 변화와 대전환을 바라는 민심을 하나로 모으는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

With 17 days remaining until the June 3 local elections, Democratic Party candidate for Gyeongsangbuk-do governor Oh Jung-ki intensified his grassroots campaign on May 17, traveling across the province to rally voter support. From early morning until late at night, Oh visited Yeongcheon, Gumi, Uiseong, and Pohang in a marathon schedule aimed at connecting directly with voters.

During the meetings, Oh emphasized the importance of respecting labor values and improving public services.

“I will actively review the proposals made by workers and public officials to build a Gyeongbuk where labor is respected and public service quality is strengthened,” he said.

As the election enters its final stretch, Oh pledged to continue his intensive field campaign.

“I will spend the remaining campaign period traveling throughout Gyeongbuk and sincerely engaging with residents,” he said. “Together with President Lee Jae-myung, I will work to unite the public desire for a major transformation in Gyeongbuk.”
