【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=강은희 대구시교육감 후보가 21일 학생 등굣길 안전 점검을 첫 공식 일정으로 선택하며 본격적인 선거운동에 들어갔다.

이날 오전 강 후보는 두류네거리에서 선거유세단 출정식을 열고, 곧바로 신흥초등학교 후문으로 자리를 옮겨 등굣길에 나선 학생들의 안전을 직접 살폈다. 

학부모들과도 일일이 인사를 나누며 현장 분위기를 챙겼다. 첫 공식 일정을 학교 현장으로 정한 것은 학생 안전과 학교 중심의 교육 철학을 강조하려는 의도로 해석된다.

강 후보는 이날 '모든 아이의 온전한 성장'과 '튼튼 안전학교'를 중심으로 한 5대 핵심 공약도 내놨다. 주요 공약에는 학생들의 심리와 정서 회복을 지원할 ‘마음쉼표 공간’ 조성, ‘마음학기제 2.0’ 운영, 중독 예방 프로그램 강화, 학교폭력 행동중재전문가 양성과 같은 학생 성장 지원 정책이 포함됐다. 또 학생 안전 강화를 위한 안전학교 정책도 함께 발표했다.

이 밖에도 ▲한국형 바칼로레아(KB) 기반 미래교육 ▲AI·창의융합 중심 미래인재 육성 ▲교육격차 해소 ▲교육공동체가 함께하는 글로벌 리더 양성 등 미래지향적인 공약을 제시하며, “대구를 대한민국 교육수도이자 세계가 주목하는 글로벌 교육수도로 만들겠다”고 밝혔다.

강 후보는 재임 기간 전국에서 처음으로 IB(국제 바칼로레아)를 도입한 점, 마음학기제 운영, 시도교육청 평가 3년 연속 최우수 성과 달성 등도 언급하며 자신의 교육행정 경험을 강조했다.

강 후보는 “모든 아이가 안전하게 성장할 수 있도록 마음 돌봄과 안전교육을 최우선으로 챙기겠다”며, “대구 아이들이 ‘대구에서 배웠다’고 자랑스럽게 말할 수 있는 교육환경을 만들겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.
