【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구지역 초·중등 퇴직 교원 단체들이 26일 강은희 대구시교육감 후보에 대한 공식 지지를 발표했다.

이날 대구퇴직교육국장 모임, 대구퇴직교육장 모임, 대구중등퇴임교장협의회 등 여러 퇴직 교원 단체 관계자들은 강 후보 캠프를 찾아 “강 후보는 대구교육의 연속성과 미래 교육 완성을 이끌 수 있는 유일한 후보”라며 지지 의사를 밝혔다.

지지 선언에 참여한 교육 원로들은 “강 후보는 교사와 국회의원, 여성가족부 장관을 거쳐 지난 8년간 대구교육을 안정적으로 이끌어온 검증된 교육행정가”라면서 “학생 중심의 교육 철학과 현장 경험을 두루 갖춘 인물”이라고 평가했다.

이들은 국제 바칼로레아(IB) 프로그램 도입, 기초학력 강화, 학교폭력 대응, 직업계고 경쟁력 강화 등 강 후보가 추진해 온 주요 교육 정책 성과를 언급하며, “대구교육의 방향성이 흔들림 없이 이어져야 한다”고 강조했다.

대구중등퇴임교장협의회 이의로 회장은 “아이들의 올바른 인성과 건강한 성장을 위해 교육 원로들도 책임감을 갖고 함께하겠다”며 “강 후보가 미래교육 체계를 안정적으로 완성할 수 있도록 힘을 보태겠다”고 말했다.

강은희 후보 역시 “평생 교육 현장을 지켜온 선배 교원들의 지지에 깊은 책임감을 느낀다”며 “학생 한 명 한 명의 성장과 행복을 중심에 둔 교육 정책을 앞으로도 변함없이 이어가겠다”고 밝혔다.

이어 “선·후배 교사가 함께 성장할 수 있는 ‘교육이음센터’를 설립해 교육 현장의 경험과 전문성을 미래세대와 연결하겠다”며 “글로벌 교육수도 대구의 도약을 완성하겠다”고 강조했다.
