【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=김부겸 더불어민주당 대구시장 후보가 선거 막판 박근혜 전 대통령 등 전직 대통령을 둘러싼 지역 정치 행보에 대해 선을 그으며, 대구의 미래와 경제를 놓고 경쟁해야 한다고 강조했다.

이 같은 발언은 최근 보수 진영이 박 전 대통령의 지역 방문을 선거 이슈로 삼으려는 움직임과 차별화하려는 의도로 해석된다. 

실제로 정치권에서는 김 후보가 진영 간 대결 구도를 벗어나, 중도층과 실용을 중시하는 유권자에게 어필하려는 전략을 취하고 있다는 평가가 나오고 있다.

남은 선거 기간 김 후보는 정책 경쟁을 더욱 강화하겠다는 계획도 내놨다. 

그는 28일 대구경북 통합신공항 예정지를 당 지도부와 함께 점검하겠다고 밝히며 “신공항 문제는 정쟁이 아닌 대구의 미래 먹거리를 위한 핵심 과제”라고 힘주어 말했다.

지역 정치권 안팎에서는 김 후보의 이번 메시지가 진영 대결에 피로감을 느끼는 유권자와, 경제·민생을 중시하는 중도층 표심을 겨냥한 것이라는 분석이 나온다. 

선거 막판에는 인물과 상징 대신 경제와 실질적 실행력을 내세워 확장성을 노리는 행보로 풀이된다.
