【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구 수성문화재단은 수성구 한국전통문화체험관이 문화체육관광부 주관 ‘2026년 우수 웰니스 관광지 외래객 유치특화’ 공모사업에 최종 선정됐다고 밝혔다.

한국전통문화체험관은 지난 2024년 우수 웰니스 관광지로 지정된 이후 꾸준히 웰니스 관광 콘텐츠를 운영하며 지역 대표 문화관광 명소로 자리 잡았다. 이번 선정으로 3년 연속 웰니스 관광지의 위상을 이어가게 됐다.

‘외래객 유치특화 우수 웰니스 관광지’는 전국 우수 웰니스 관광지 88개소를 대상으로 외국인 관광객 유치 역량과 프로그램 운영 수준 등을 종합 평가해 선정된다. 올해는 전국에서 총 20개 관광지가 이름을 올렸다.

선정된 관광지에는 외국인 관광객 유치를 위한 경쟁력 강화 사업비가 지원된다. 이를 통해 글로벌 관광상품 개발과 체험 프로그램 고도화, 해외 플랫폼을 활용한 홍보·마케팅, 외국인 친화적 관광환경 조성 등 다양한 사업이 추진될 예정이다.

수성구 만촌동에 위치한 한국전통문화체험관은 한국 고유의 전통문화를 직접 경험할 수 있는 공간이다. 다례와 한복 체험을 비롯해 전통음식 만들기, 죽궁 체험, 전통주 제조, 거문고 체험 등 지역 특색을 반영한 다양한 프로그램을 운영하고 있다. 이와 함께 주민과 관광객을 대상으로 한 교육 프로그램도 지속적으로 마련해 문화 향유 기회를 확대하고 있다.

수성문화재단 관계자는 “한국전통문화체험관은 개관 이후 꾸준한 콘텐츠 개발과 프로그램 운영을 통해 지역민과 방문객 모두에게 사랑받는 공간으로 성장해 왔다”며 “앞으로도 외국인 관광객이 찾고 머무르는 관광도시 조성을 위해 다양한 노력을 이어가겠다”고 말했다.

The Daegu Suseong Cultural Foundation announced that the Korea Traditional Culture Experience Center in Suseong-gu has been finally selected for the ‘2026 Excellent Wellness Destination Specialized for Attracting Foreign Visitors’ public contest project organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Since being designated as an Excellent Wellness Destination in 2024, the Korea Traditional Culture Experience Center has consistently operated wellness tourism content, establishing itself as a representative cultural and tourism attraction in the region. With this selection, it will maintain its status as a wellness destination for three consecutive years.

The ‘Excellent Wellness Destination Specialized for Attracting Foreign Visitors’ is selected by comprehensively evaluating the capacity to attract foreign tourists and the level of program operation among 88 excellent wellness destinations nationwide. This year, a total of 20 destinations across the country were named.

The selected destinations will receive funding for projects aimed at strengthening competitiveness to attract foreign tourists. Through this, various initiatives are planned to be implemented, including the development of global tourism products, the enhancement of experience programs, promotion and marketing utilizing overseas platforms, and the creation of a foreigner-friendly tourism environment.

Located in Manchon-dong, Suseong-gu, the Korean Traditional Culture Experience Center is a space where visitors can directly experience Korea's unique traditional culture. It operates a variety of programs reflecting local characteristics, including tea ceremonies and Hanbok experiences, as well as traditional food making, bamboo archery, traditional liquor brewing, and Geomungo (Korean zither) experiences. In addition, the center continuously organizes educational programs for residents and tourists to expand opportunities for cultural enjoyment.

An official from the Suseong Cultural Foundation stated, "Since its opening, the Korean Traditional Culture Experience Center has grown into a space loved by both locals and visitors through consistent content development and program operation," adding, "We will continue our diverse efforts to create a tourist city that attracts and attracts foreign tourists."
