기자회견에 앞서 포항 우현사거리에서 출근길 인사로 하루를 시작한 오 후보는 회견 직후 곧바로 거점별 유세 현장으로 발걸음을 옮겼다. 오 후보는 흥해 5일장과 영천 5일장을 차례로 방문해 장날을 맞은 지역 주민 및 상인들과 손을 잡고 지지를 호소했다. 이어 구미 선산시장과 상주시장을 잇따라 찾아 막판 화력을 집중하며 “도민을 두려워하고 도민 앞에 책임지는 정치를 경북에서도 시작해달라”고 읍소했다.
