【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구경북지방중소벤처기업청이 올해 글로벌 강소기업으로 선정된 지역 수출기업을 격려하고 수출 경쟁력 강화를 위한 지원 의지를 밝혔다.
대구경북지방중소벤처기업청은 11일 청사 중회의실에서 ‘2026년 글로벌 강소기업 지정서 수여식’을 개최하고 대구·경북 지역 우수 수출 중소기업에 지정서와 현판을 전달했다.
글로벌 강소기업 1,000+ 프로젝트는 성장 잠재력이 높은 수출 중소기업을 발굴해 중소벤처기업부를 비롯한 중소벤처기업진흥공단, 기술보증기금, 신용보증기금 등 23개 기관의 다양한 지원사업을 연계·우대하는 프로그램이다.
올해는 대구·경북 지역에서 총 52개 기업이 최종 선정되며 지역 수출 유망기업으로 이름을 올렸다.
이날 행사에는 지난해 수출 실적이 500만 달러 이상인 글로벌 강소기업 12개사가 참석했다. 정기환 대구경북지방중소벤처기업청장은 직접 지정서와 현판을 수여하며 기업들의 성과를 축하하고 글로벌 시장 진출 확대를 응원했다.
행사에는 대구시와 경상북도를 비롯해 중소벤처기업진흥공단, 대구테크노파크, 경북테크노파크, 대한무역투자진흥공사(KOTRA) 등 지역 수출지원 기관 관계자들도 함께했다.
참석자들은 최근 중동 정세 불안 등으로 어려움을 겪고 있는 수출 현장의 애로사항을 공유하고, 지역 기업들의 해외시장 개척과 수출 확대를 위한 협력 방안을 논의했다.
정기환 청장은 “글로벌 강소기업은 우수한 기술력과 혁신 역량을 바탕으로 지역 경제 발전과 수출 확대를 견인하는 핵심 기업들”이라며 “관계기관과의 긴밀한 협력을 통해 지역 수출기업들이 변화하는 국제 통상 환경에 효과적으로 대응하고 글로벌 시장에서 경쟁력을 높일 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
한편 지난해 글로벌 강소기업 1,000+ 프로젝트에 선정된 대구·경북 지역 기업 43개사는 총 2억4천만 달러 규모의 수출 실적을 기록하며 지역 수출 성장에 기여한 것으로 나타났다.

52 Global Strong SMEs Selected in Daegu and Gyeongbuk… Strengthening Support for Growth of Local Export Companies
The Daegu-Gyeongbuk Regional Office of SMEs and Startups encouraged local export companies selected as Global Strong SMEs this year and expressed its commitment to supporting the strengthening of their export competitiveness.
On the 11th, the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Regional Office of SMEs and Startups held the "2026 Global Strong SME Designation Certificate Award Ceremony" in the main conference room of its headquarters and presented designation certificates and plaques to outstanding export SMEs in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions.
The Global Strong SME 1,000+ Project is a program that identifies export SMEs with high growth potential and links and provides preferential treatment through various support projects from 23 institutions, including the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the Korea Small Business & Startup Agency, the Korea Technology Guarantee Fund, and the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund.
This year, a total of 52 companies from the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions were finally selected, earning recognition as promising local export companies. Twelve "Global Strong Small" companies, which recorded export sales of over $5 million last year, attended the event. Jeong Gi-hwan, Head of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Regional Office of SMEs and Startups, personally presented designation certificates and plaques, congratulating the companies on their achievements and cheering for their expansion into global markets.
Officials from Daegu City and Gyeongsangbuk-do, as well as representatives from regional export support organizations such as the Korea Small Business & Startup Agency (KOSME), Daegu Technopark, Gyeongbuk Technopark, and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), also participated in the event.
Attendees shared difficulties faced by export sites due to recent instability in the Middle East and discussed cooperation measures to help regional companies pioneer overseas markets and expand exports.
Head Jeong Gi-hwan stated, "Global Strong Small" companies are key enterprises that drive regional economic development and export expansion based on their excellent technological capabilities and innovation expertise." He added, "We will actively support regional export companies through close cooperation with relevant agencies so that they can effectively respond to the changing international trade environment and enhance their competitiveness in the global market."
Meanwhile, 43 companies in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions selected for the Global Small Giants 1,000+ Project last year recorded total export sales of $240 million, contributing to the region's export growth.
