【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=선린대학교 산학협력단이 지역 청년 창업 활성화와 창업 생태계 조성을 위한 ‘2026년 포항시 청년예비창업가 육성사업’의 본격적인 시작을 알렸다.

선린대학교 산학협력단은 지난 10일 대학 내 만나관 3층 교수학습지원센터 세미나실에서 ‘2026년 포항시 청년예비창업가 육성사업’ 개강식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이날 행사에는 현진숙 산학협력단장을 비롯해 포항시 관계자와 사업에 선정된 예비창업가 13개 팀이 참석해 사업 추진 방향을 공유하고 창업 도전에 나서는 청년들을 격려하는 시간을 가졌다.

이번 사업은 우수한 창업 아이디어와 기술력을 보유한 지역 청년 예비창업자를 발굴·육성해 청년 일자리를 확대하고 지역경제에 활력을 불어넣기 위해 마련됐다.

선린대학교 산학협력단은 지난 2013년부터 올해까지 14년 연속 사업 운영기관으로 선정돼 사업을 수행하고 있으며, 그동안 259명의 예비창업자와 스타트업을 지원하며 지역 창업 기반 조성에 기여해 왔다.

올해 선발된 13개 팀은 오는 12월 말까지 약 6개월간 다양한 창업 지원 프로그램에 참여하게 된다. 참여자들에게는 창업활동비를 비롯해 창업 공간과 공용 사무기기 제공, 전문 창업교육, 분야별 전문가 멘토링, 경영 컨설팅 등 창업 초기 단계에 필요한 맞춤형 지원이 제공된다.

현진숙 산학협력단장은 “청년들의 창의적인 아이디어와 도전 정신은 지역의 미래 경쟁력을 높이는 중요한 자산”이라며 “예비창업자들이 안정적으로 사업 기반을 구축하고 성장할 수 있도록 실질적이고 체계적인 지원을 이어가겠다”고 말했다.

한편 ‘포항시 청년예비창업가 육성사업’은 포항시에 거주하는 만 19세 이상 39세 이하 청년을 대상으로 운영된다. 포항시가 사업을 주관하고 선린대학교가 위탁 운영을 맡아 지역 정착형 창업 모델 육성과 청년 일자리 창출, 지역경제 활성화를 목표로 추진하고 있다.

The Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Sunlin University announced the official launch of the "2026 Pohang City Youth Pre-Entrepreneurship Training Program," aimed at revitalizing local youth entrepreneurship and fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The Foundation stated that it held the opening ceremony for the program on the 10th at the seminar room of the Teaching and Learning Support Center on the 3rd floor of the Manna Hall on campus.

The event was attended by Foundation Director Hyun Jin-sook, Pohang City officials, and 13 teams of pre-entrepreneurs selected for the program. Attendees shared the direction of the project and encouraged young people embarking on entrepreneurial challenges.

This program was established to discover and nurture local youth pre-entrepreneurs possessing excellent startup ideas and technological capabilities, thereby expanding youth employment opportunities and injecting vitality into the local economy. Sunlin University’s Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation has been selected as the project operating agency for 14 consecutive years, from 2013 to this year, and has been carrying out the program. During this time, it has supported 259 prospective entrepreneurs and startups, contributing to the establishment of a regional startup foundation.

The 13 teams selected this year will participate in various startup support programs for approximately six months, until the end of this coming December. Participants will be provided with customized support necessary for the early stages of a startup, including startup activity funds, provision of workspaces and shared office equipment, professional startup education, mentoring by experts in various fields, and management consulting.

Hyun Jin-sook, Head of the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, stated, “The creative ideas and challenging spirit of young people are important assets that enhance the region’s future competitiveness,” adding, “We will continue to provide practical and systematic support so that prospective entrepreneurs can stably build a business foundation and grow.”

Meanwhile, the ‘Pohang City Youth Prospective Entrepreneurship Development Project’ is operated for young people aged 19 to 39 residing in Pohang City. Pohang City is leading the project, with Sunlin University entrusted with its operation, to promote local settlement-type startup models, create jobs for young people, and revitalize the local economy.
