【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=경북지역 직업계고 학생들이 ‘제3회 실리·AX(AI Transformation) 기술전’에서 대학생과 산업체 참가팀을 제치고 최우수상과 특별상, 인기상 등을 차지했다.

16일 경상북도교육청에 따르면 이번 대회에서 경북소프트웨어마이스터고등학교 학생들은 ‘작업안전 통합제어 시스템’을 출품해 AX 부문 최우수상을 수상했다. 

이 시스템은 산업현장에서 발생할 수 있는 각종 안전사고를 예방하고 작업 환경을 실시간으로 관리할 수 있는 AI 기반 통합 안전관리 솔루션으로, 심사에서 높은 평가를 받았다.

금오공업고등학교 학생들은 ‘스마트 안전헬멧’을 개발해 특별상과 인기상을 동시에 수상하는 쾌거를 이뤘다. ‘스마트 안전헬멧’은 작업자의 안전 상태를 실시간으로 점검하고 위험 상황을 즉시 감지할 수 있도록 설계된 AI 기반 안전관리 장비다. 산업현장에 바로 적용할 수 있는 실용성 측면에서 좋은 평가를 받았다.

심사위원단과 아진산업 관계자는 “고등학생임에도 불구하고 뛰어난 AI 데이터 분석 능력과 완성도 높은 판단 알고리즘을 선보였다”며, “산업현장 적용 가능성 역시 매우 높아 인상적이었다”고 평가했다.

임종식 경북도교육감은 “이번 성과는 경북 직업계고 학생들이 산업 현장의 문제를 스스로 발견하고 AI 기술로 해법을 제시하는 미래 인재로 성장하고 있음을 보여주는 의미 있는 결과”라고 말했다. 

그는 “앞으로도 실무 중심의 직업교육을 강화해 학생들이 첨단산업 분야의 핵심 인재로 성장할 수 있도록 적극 지원할 것”이라고 밝혔다.

Students from vocational high schools in the Gyeongbuk region won the Grand Prize, Special Award, and Popularity Award at the "3rd Silly·AX (AI Transformation) Technology Exhibition," beating out university students and industry teams.

According to the Gyeongsangbuk-do Office of Education on the 16th, students from Gyeongbuk Software Meister High School won the Grand Prize in the AX category for their entry, the "Integrated Work Safety Control System."

This system is an AI-based integrated safety management solution capable of preventing various safety accidents that may occur in industrial sites and managing the work environment in real time, and it received high marks during the judging process.

Students from Kumoh Industrial High School achieved a remarkable feat by developing a "Smart Safety Helmet" and winning both the Special Award and the Popularity Award. The "Smart Safety Helmet" is an AI-based safety management device designed to monitor a worker's safety status in real time and immediately detect dangerous situations. It received favorable evaluations for its practicality, which allows for immediate application in industrial sites.

The judging panel and officials from Ajin Industry commented, “Despite being high school students, they demonstrated outstanding AI data analysis capabilities and highly sophisticated decision-making algorithms,” adding, “Their potential for application in industrial settings was also very impressive.”

Lim Jong-sik, Superintendent of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Office of Education, stated, “This achievement is a meaningful result that demonstrates that vocational high school students in Gyeongsangbuk-do are growing into future talents capable of independently identifying problems in industrial settings and proposing solutions using AI technology.”

He further announced, “We will continue to strengthen practical, hands-on vocational education to actively support students in becoming key talents in advanced industrial sectors.”
