【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항시의회 예산결산특별위원회가 포항시가 제출한 2026년도 제1회 추가경정예산안에 대한 종합 심사에 착수했다.

포항시의회 예산결산특별위원회(위원장 양윤제)는 17일 회의를 열고 2026년도 제1회 추가경정예산안에 대한 본격적인 검토를 시작했다고 밝혔다.

이번 추경예산안 규모는 총 3조 2,480억 원으로, 당초 예산보다 1,600억 원이 늘어나 5.18% 증가했다. 회계별로는 일반회계가 1,446억 원, 특별회계가 154억 원 각각 증액 편성됐다.

포항시가 제출한 이번 추경안은 최근 국제 정세 불안에 따른 유가 상승과 물가 부담 확대에 대응하고 지역경제 회복을 지원하는 데 중점을 두고 마련됐다.

주요 편성 내용에는 고유가로 어려움을 겪는 시민과 업종을 지원하기 위한 사업과 지역 내 소비 활성화를 위한 지역사랑상품권 발행 사업 등이 포함됐다. 이와 함께 국비와 도비가 지원되는 각종 보조사업 예산도 반영됐다.

예산결산특별위원회는 사업의 필요성과 재원 운용의 적정성, 시민 체감 효과 등을 종합적으로 검토한 뒤 예산안을 심사할 예정이다.

심사를 마친 추경예산안은 오는 19일 열리는 제2차 본회의에 상정돼 최종 의결 절차를 밟게 된다.

양윤제 예산결산특별위원장은 “이번 추경예산안 심사는 제9대 포항시의회가 진행하는 마지막 추경 심사라는 점에서 의미가 크다”며 “시민의 소중한 세금이 효율적으로 사용될 수 있도록 세밀하게 검토하고, 고유가와 원자재 가격 상승으로 어려움을 겪는 지역경제에 실질적인 도움이 될 수 있도록 책임감 있게 심사하겠다”고 말했다.
