박 당선인은 지난 17일 첨단해양R&D센터에서 기자간담회를 개최하고 “당선 이후 지역 곳곳의 산업 현장과 민생 현장을 방문하며 시민들의 목소리를 듣는 데 집중해 왔다”며 “앞으로도 현장을 중심으로 시민과 직접 소통하며 문제 해결 방안을 찾는 행정을 추진하겠다”고 말했다.

그는 시민과의 소통 강화를 민선 9기 시정의 핵심 가치로 제시하며 “시민들이 보다 쉽게 다가올 수 있는 시장이 되겠다”며 “자주 만나고 직접 대화하는 열린 시정을 통해 시민과 함께하는 행정을 실현하겠다”고 강조했다.

이어 “도의원으로 활동하며 쌓아온 현장 경험과 다양한 이해관계를 조정해 온 역량을 시정 운영에 적극 활용하겠다”며 “실질적인 변화를 만들어내는 행정을 펼쳐 나가겠다”고 덧붙였다.

박 당선인은 민선 9기의 주요 과제로 지역경제 회복을 최우선으로 꼽았다. 이와 함께 소상공인과 자영업자 지원, 지역 기업 경쟁력 강화, 청년 일자리 확대, 미래 신산업 육성 등을 핵심 정책 방향으로 제시했다.

또한 취임 이후 행정 공백을 최소화하고 주요 현안을 신속히 추진하기 위해 인수위원회에 시정 비전 구체화와 분야별 실행계획 수립을 주문했다고 설명했다.

특히 철강산업 경쟁력 강화와 포스코와의 상생 협력, 수소환원제철 전환 지원, 영일만대교 조기 건설 등 지역 발전과 직결된 현안에 대한 추진 의지도 밝혔다.

박 당선인은 “인수위원회 분과별 업무보고와 현장 점검을 통해 주요 사업들을 면밀히 검토하고 있다”며 “구체적인 실행 방안을 마련해 취임과 동시에 속도감 있게 사업을 추진하고 시민들이 체감할 수 있는 성과를 만들어 가겠다”고 말했다.

이어 “포항의 미래 성장동력을 확보하고 양질의 일자리를 창출하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다”며 “지역경제에 활력을 불어넣고 미래산업 육성을 통해 포항의 새로운 도약을 이끌겠다”고 밝혔다.

박 당선인은 “시민에게 가장 가까운 시장, 현장에서 가장 먼저 만날 수 있는 시장이 되겠다”며 “언제나 시민의 목소리를 최우선에 두고 포항 발전과 시민 행복을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
