【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=권영진 국회의원(국민의힘, 대구 달서구병)이 2026년 상반기 지역 현안 해결을 위한 예산 61억7,600만 원을 확보했다. 이번 예산은 대구시 특별조정교부금 31억5천만 원, 행정안전부 특별교부세 11억 원, 교육부 특별교부금 19억2,600만 원 등으로 구성됐다.

가장 큰 예산이 투입되는 사업은 달서구 보훈회관 건립이다. 총 30억 원이 반영된 보훈회관은 성당동 일원에 지하 1층, 지상 4층 규모로 신축될 계획이다. 강당, 전시실, 보훈단체 사무실, 다용도실 등이 들어설 예정이며, 1997년 준공돼 시설이 노후화되고 공간이 부족해 10개 보훈단체 중 4개 단체만 입주해 있는 기존 시설을 대체한다.

달서구에 거주 중인 보훈대상자는 8,052명으로 전체 보훈대상자의 약 19.3%에 달한다. 이에 따라 보훈회관 신축은 지역 보훈가족들의 오랜 숙원사업으로 꼽혀왔다.

교육환경 개선도 이번 예산 확보에 포함됐다. 성당초등학교 다목적체육관 증축에는 교육부 특별교부금 19억2,600만 원이 투입된다. 성당초는 현재 학생 684명이 재학하고 있으나 별도의 체육관이 없어 인근 중학교 시설을 공동으로 사용해왔다. 이번 사업으로 연면적 880㎡에 강당, 체육관, 시청각실, 도서관, 특별교실 등을 갖춘 시설이 들어선다.

생활환경과 주민 안전을 위한 예산도 눈에 띈다. 송현2동 청사 건립에는 특별교부세 4억 원이 지원된다. 새 청사는 지하 1층, 지상 4층 규모로 행정복지센터, 주민자치센터, 대회의실 등이 마련될 예정이다.

이밖에도 두류동·송현동 어린이보호구역 CCTV 확충에 4억 원, 성당천체어린이공원 놀이시설 정비에 3억 원이 각각 편성돼 주민 안전과 생활환경 개선에 활용된다.

권영진 의원은 “이번 예산 확보는 보훈가족 예우, 교육환경 개선, 안전한 통학 여건 조성을 위한 의미 있는 첫걸음”이라며 “예산 집행과 사업 추진 과정도 꼼꼼히 살펴 주민들이 변화를 체감할 수 있도록 힘쓰겠다”고 밝혔다. 이어 “앞으로도 지역주민의 목소리에 귀 기울이고, 중앙정부와 대구시, 그리고 달서구를 잇는 가교 역할을 하며 지역 발전에 앞장서겠다”고 덧붙였다.

Budgets aimed at improving living environments and ensuring resident safety also stand out. 400 million won in special grants will be provided for the construction of the Songhyeon 2-dong office building. The new building will be a four-story structure with one basement level, housing an administrative welfare center, a residents' self-governance center, and a large conference room. In addition, 400 million won has been allocated for the expansion of CCTVs in child protection zones in Duryu-dong and Songhyeon-dong, and 300 million won for the maintenance of playground facilities at Seongdangcheonche Children's Park, to be utilized for resident safety and the improvement of the living environment.

Councilor Kwon Young-jin stated, "Securing this budget is a meaningful first step toward honoring veteran families, improving the educational environment, and creating safe commuting conditions."
