이날 본회의에서 통과된 대구광역시 제1회 추가경정예산안은 기존 예산보다 4.2% 증가한 12조 1,987억 원 규모다. 대구시교육청의 추가경정예산안도 기존보다 8.5% 증가한 4조 6,174억 원으로 확정됐다.
시의회는 이번 추경예산이 정부 추가경정예산에 따른 지방교부세와 국고보조금 등이 반영돼, 민생 안정과 지역 현안 대처에 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다고 전했다. 아울러 최근 고유가와 글로벌 경제 불확실성에 따른 시민 부담을 덜고, 지역경제 활성화와 관련된 사업들이 차질 없이 추진될 수 있도록 예산 집행의 효율성과 신속성을 강조했다.
이만규 시의회 의장은 “제9대 의회의 마지막 회기를 잘 마무리하게 됐다”며 “제10대 의회가 안정적으로 출범할 수 있도록 준비에 만전을 기할 것”이라고 말했다.
한편, 제10대 대구시의회 첫 회기인 제326회 임시회는 7월 6일부터 9일까지 열릴 예정이다. 시의회는 이 기간 의장단 선출과 상임위원회 구성 등 원구성 절차를 마치고 본격적인 10대 의정활동에 돌입할 계획이다.
