【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=수성문화재단은 수성구립 고산도서관이 지난 17일 열린 과학기술정보통신부 주관 ‘정보문화 유공’ 정부포상에서 부총리 겸 과학기술정보통신부 장관 표창을 수상했다고 밝혔다.

정보문화 유공 포상은 디지털 역량 강화와 정보격차 해소, 정보문화 확산에 기여한 개인과 기관·단체를 대상으로 수여되는 정부 포상이다.

고산도서관은 지역 주민을 위한 차별화된 디지털·과학 교육 인프라를 구축하고 정보취약계층의 정보 접근성 향상에 기여한 점을 높이 평가받았다.

도서관은 그동안 ‘수성인싸이언스’ 심화 강연과 ‘도서관 밖 도서관_COSMOS IN GOSAN’ 현장 체험 프로그램, 메이커스페이스 활용 교육, 생활 속 과학 원리를 쉽게 접할 수 있는 ‘생활과학’ 프로그램 등을 운영해 왔다.

특히 디지털 리터러시 교육을 지속적으로 추진하며 지역 내 정보격차 해소에 힘써왔으며, 과학 분야 북큐레이션과 스마트도서관 시스템 도입을 통해 주민들이 최신 정보와 지식을 보다 쉽게 접할 수 있는 환경을 조성했다.

이 같은 노력은 과학과 디지털 기술을 일상 속 학습과 문화 활동으로 연결하며 지역사회 디지털 포용성을 높이는 데 기여했다는 평가를 받았다.

김대권 수성구청장은 “이번 수상은 고산도서관이 2020년부터 지속적으로 추진해 온 과학 특성화 사업과 ‘도서관 밖 도서관’ 프로그램이 지역사회에 안정적으로 정착한 결과”라며 “앞으로도 주민 맞춤형 디지털 역량 강화와 미래형 과학·정보문화 공간 구축에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

The library has been operating programs such as the "Suseong In Science" advanced lectures, the "Library Outside the Library_COSMOS IN GOSAN" field experience program, education utilizing the Makerspace, and the "Life Science" program, which allows participants to easily access scientific principles in everyday life. In particular, the library has strived to bridge the digital divide within the community by continuously promoting digital literacy education, and has created an environment where residents can more easily access the latest information and knowledge through science-related book curation and the introduction of a smart library system.

These efforts were recognized for contributing to enhancing digital inclusion in the local community by connecting science and digital technology to everyday learning and cultural activities.

Suseong-gu Mayor Kim Dae-kwon stated, "This award is the result of the science specialization projects and the 'Library Outside the Library' program, which Gosan Library has continuously pursued since 2020, becoming stably established in the local community." He added, "We will continue to do our utmost to strengthen residents' digital capabilities tailored to their needs and build a future-oriented science and information culture space."
