달성군은 지난 22일 현풍읍 달성군민체육관에서 ‘6·25전쟁 제76주년 기념행사’를 열고 참전유공자들의 공훈을 기리는 시간을 가졌다고 밝혔다.

이날 행사에는 이진숙 국회의원과 정은주 부군수, 김은영 의장을 비롯해 지역 보훈단체 관계자와 참전유공자 등 120여 명이 참석해 전쟁의 아픔을 되새기고 평화의 가치를 공유했다.

올해 기념식은 미래 세대가 직접 참여하는 프로그램을 중심으로 진행돼 의미를 더했다. 어린이들이 참전용사들에게 감사의 마음을 전하며 세대 간 공감과 존경의 메시지를 전달했다.

특히 ‘꿈이있는 어린이집’ 원아들은 직접 제작한 하트 모양 태극기를 참전용사들에게 전달하며 감사의 뜻을 표현했다. 아이들의 정성이 담긴 선물은 행사장을 찾은 참석자들에게 큰 감동을 선사했다.

이어 열린 헌정 공연에서는 반송초등학교 4학년 양수아 학생이 무대에 올라 동요 ‘오빠생각’과 ‘아름다운 나라’를 선보였다. 양 학생의 노래는 참전용사들의 희생으로 지켜낸 대한민국의 의미를 되새기게 하며 깊은 울림을 전했다.

기념행사와 함께 국가유공자와 보훈 가족을 위한 나눔 활동도 이어졌다. 달성복지재단은 참전유공자들에게 제과 세트 50개를 전달했으며, 행사 종료 후에는 지역 내 9개 보훈단체에도 격려 물품을 지원했다.

정은주 부군수는 “지금의 자유와 번영은 나라를 위해 헌신한 참전용사들의 희생 위에 세워진 소중한 결실”이라며 “보훈 가족에 대한 지원을 지속적으로 강화하고, 호국정신이 미래 세대에 올바르게 계승될 수 있도록 다양한 노력을 이어가겠다”고 말했다.
