【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=추경호 대구광역시장 당선인이 24일 영남대학교 의과대학 임상수기센터를 찾아 지역 필수의료 인력 양성과 의료산업 발전 방안을 점검했다.
추 당선인은 의료산업 관계자들과 연이어 만나 민선 9기 공공의료 정책 방향에 대해 논의했다.
이날 추 당선인은 임상수기센터 내 CPX실, OSCE실, 시뮬레이션실 등 첨단 교육시설을 둘러보며 의학교육 환경과 수련체계를 직접 살폈다. 임상수기센터는 RISE 사업 지원을 받아 660㎡가 넘는 규모로 확장됐으며, 의대생 임상 역량 교육과 지역 수련환경 개선에 활용되고 있다.
이어진 간담회에서는 2027학년도부터 도입되는 지역의사선발전형과 지역 필수의료 인력 확보 방안 등이 주요 의제로 다뤄졌다. 대구·경북권 지역의사선발전형 인원은 총 72명으로, 경북대 26명, 계명대 15명, 영남대와 대구가톨릭대 각각 13명, 동국대 와이즈캠퍼스 5명에 배정됐다.
이 자리에서 참석자들은 “지역의사 선발 이후에도 안정적인 수련환경과 의료 인프라가 제대로 조성돼야 지역 정착과 필수의료 강화가 실현될 수 있다”고 입을 모았다.
같은 날 진행된 AI·바이오 메디시티대구협의회 관계자 간담회에서는 의료데이터 활용, 디지털 헬스케어, 바이오산업 육성, 의료현장 디지털 혁신 방안 등을 논의했다. 참석자들은 “지역 의료산업 경쟁력 강화를 위해 산·학·연·병 간 협력체계 구축과 정책 지원이 필요하다”고 건의했다.
추 당선인은 “지역의사선발전형이 제대로 자리 잡을 수 있도록 수련환경과 의료 인프라 구축을 적극 지원하겠다”며 “응급의료체계 강화와 디지털 혁신을 통해 의료진 진료환경을 개선하고, 시민들이 안정적으로 필수의료 서비스를 받을 수 있도록 힘쓰겠다”고 강조했다.
또 “대구가 가진 의료·바이오산업 역량을 바탕으로 지역 의료산업의 경쟁력을 높여 시민 건강 증진과 지역경제 활성화에도 힘쓰겠다”고 밝혔다.

The Clinical Skills Center has been expanded to over 660 square meters with support from the RISE project and is being utilized for educating medical students on clinical competencies and improving the local training environment.
During the subsequent meeting, key agenda items included the regional doctor selection system to be introduced starting in the 2027 academic year and measures to secure essential local medical personnel. A total of 72 positions were allocated for the regional doctor selection process in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions. These were distributed as follows: 26 to Kyungpook National University, 15 to Keimyung University, 13 each to Yeungnam University and Daegu Catholic University, and 5 to Dongguk University's Wise Campus.
Attendees at the meeting unanimously stated, "Even after the selection of regional doctors, a stable training environment and medical infrastructure must be properly established to realize their settlement in the region and the strengthening of essential medical services."
At a meeting held on the same day with officials from the AI & Bio Medicity Daegu Council, discussions focused on the utilization of medical data, digital healthcare, the fostering of the bio-industry, and measures for digital innovation in the medical field. Attendees suggested that "the establishment of a cooperative system among industry, academia, research institutes, and hospitals, along with policy support, is necessary to strengthen the competitiveness of the regional medical industry."
Representative-elect Chu emphasized, “I will actively support the establishment of training environments and medical infrastructure so that the regional doctor selection system can take root properly,” adding, “I will strive to improve the clinical environment for medical staff through the strengthening of the emergency medical system and digital innovation, and ensure that citizens can reliably receive essential medical services.”
He also stated, “Based on Daegu’s capabilities in the medical and bio industries, I will work to enhance the competitiveness of the local medical industry to promote citizens’ health and revitalize the regional economy.”
