경북도는 25일 도청에서 경상북도 대전환위원회 환경산림자원 분과위원회를 열고 기후환경과 산림자원 분야의 주요 정책 추진 현황을 공유하는 한편, 미래 성장동력 확보를 위한 정책 방향을 논의했다.

대전환위원회 환경산림자원 분과는 대학과 기업, 연구기관, 환경·산림 관련 단체 등 다양한 분야의 전문가 20명으로 구성된 정책 자문기구로, 도정 주요 과제에 대한 의견 수렴과 신규 시책 발굴 역할을 수행하고 있다.

이날 회의에서는 민선9기 핵심 사업 추진 상황이 소개됐다. 기후환경 분야에서는 K-기후테크 CCU·DAC 글로벌 혁신클러스터 조성, 순환경제 기반 녹색융합클러스터 구축, 첨단 물산업 혁신허브 조성, 형산강 하천환경정비사업 등이 주요 과제로 제시됐다.

산림 분야에서는 산림경영특구 조성, 산림투자선도지구 지정, 경북 산림자원수집센터 조성 사업 등이 논의됐으며, 보건환경연구원은 기후위기와 환경오염 대응을 위한 연구·분석 역량 강화 방안을 설명했다.

회의에 참석한 전문가들은 탄소중립 실현을 위한 기후테크 산업 육성, 순환경제 체계 구축, 물산업 경쟁력 강화, 산불 피해지역의 지속가능한 복구 및 산림자원의 고부가가치 산업화 필요성 등에 대한 의견을 제시했다.

또한 경북이 보유한 산림·수자원 등 자연자원과 산업 기반을 활용해 미래 성장동력을 확보하고, 환경복지와 안전 정책을 확대해 도민이 체감할 수 있는 성과를 창출해야 한다고 강조했다.

아울러 지역 특성을 반영한 차별화된 공약사업 추진과 국가 정책과의 연계를 강화해 국비 확보와 지역 발전 효과를 높일 필요성도 제기됐다.

경상북도는 이날 논의된 의견을 검토해 민선9기 공약사업 추진 과정에 반영하고, 환경·산림 분야의 중장기 정책 수립과 신규 사업 발굴에 활용할 계획이다.

이경곤 경상북도 기후환경국장은 “기후위기와 산업구조 변화 등 급변하는 환경 속에서 현장과 전문가의 의견을 정책에 반영하는 것이 중요하다”며 “도민이 체감할 수 있는 정책 성과를 창출할 수 있도록 공약사업의 실행력을 높여 나가겠다”고 말했다.
