【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구광역시가 지역 로봇산업의 기술 경쟁력 강화와 글로벌 시장 선점을 위해 첨단로봇 핵심기술 공동연구개발 지원에 나선다. 이번 사업은 로봇 부품부터 완제품까지 전 주기 기술 고도화를 목표로 추진된다.
대구광역시와 대구기계부품연구원(DMI)은 ‘2026년 첨단로봇 요소(부품·모듈·완제품) 기술 공동연구개발 지원사업’ 참여기업 및 기관을 모집한다고 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 액추에이터와 센서 등 첨단로봇 핵심 부품 기술을 기업과 연구기관이 공동으로 개발하도록 지원하는 프로그램으로, 지역 로봇기업의 제품화 역량을 높이고 미래 전략산업으로서 로봇 생태계 기반을 강화하는 데 목적이 있다.
특히 대구시가 추진 중인 휴머노이드 및 AI 기반 첨단로봇 산업 육성 전략과 연계해 글로벌 경쟁력을 갖춘 산업 구조를 구축하는 데 초점이 맞춰졌다.
지원 분야는 ▲고출력 휴머노이드용 중공형 액추에이터 기술 개발 ▲제조·물류 현장 적용을 위한 범용 로봇 광시야 3차원 센싱 모듈 기술 개발 ▲40kg 가반 양팔 휴머노이드 로봇용 고하중 관절 액추에이터 기술 개발 등 총 3개 과제로 구성된다.
선정된 기업 및 연구기관은 대구기계부품연구원의 연구 인프라와 전문 인력을 활용해 요소기술 개발부터 시제품 제작, 실증, 성능평가, 신뢰성 검증까지 전 과정을 지원받게 된다.
지원 규모는 과제당 연간 최대 2억 5천만 원 이내이며, 총 2개 내외 과제를 선정할 예정이다. 주관기관은 본사 또는 주요 사업장이 대구시에 위치한 로봇 관련 기업이어야 하며, 수요기업·대학·연구기관과의 컨소시엄 구성이 권장된다.
참여 신청은 7월 13일부터 20일까지 대구기계부품연구원에 우편 또는 방문 접수를 통해 진행된다.

Daegu City Intensifies Efforts to Preempt Future Robot Industry… Recruiting Companies for Joint R&D on Advanced Robots
Daegu Metropolitan City is launching a support initiative for joint research and development of core technologies for advanced robots to strengthen the technological competitiveness of the local robot industry and secure a leading position in the global market. This project aims to advance technology across the entire lifecycle, from robot components to finished products.
Daegu Metropolitan City and the Daegu Machinery & Parts Institute (DMI) announced that they are recruiting participating companies and institutions for the "2026 Support Project for Joint R&D of Advanced Robot Element (Components, Modules, and Finished Products) Technologies."
This project is a program designed to support the joint development of core advanced robot component technologies, such as actuators and sensors, between companies and research institutions. Its purpose is to enhance the commercialization capabilities of local robot companies and strengthen the foundation of the robot ecosystem as a future strategic industry.
In particular, the focus is on building an industrial structure with global competitiveness in conjunction with Daegu City's ongoing strategy to foster the humanoid and AI-based advanced robot industry. The supported fields consist of a total of three projects: ▲Development of hollow actuator technology for high-output humanoid robots, ▲Development of wide-field 3D sensing module technology for general-purpose robots for manufacturing and logistics applications, and ▲Development of heavy-duty joint actuator technology for dual-arm humanoid robots with a 40kg payload.
Selected companies and research institutions will receive full support throughout the entire process, from the development of core technologies to prototype manufacturing, demonstration, performance evaluation, and reliability verification, by utilizing the research infrastructure and expert personnel of the Daegu Institute of Machinery & Materials (DJMR).
The support scale is up to a maximum of 250 million KRW per project per year, and approximately two projects are planned to be selected. The lead organization must be a robot-related company with its headquarters or major business sites located in Daegu, and the formation of a consortium with client companies, universities, or research institutions is encouraged.
Applications for participation will be accepted via mail or in person at the Daegu Institute of Machinery & Materials from July 13 to July 20. Lee Yun-jeong, Head of the Machinery and Robotics Division at Daegu Metropolitan City, stated, “This project will serve as an important opportunity for local robot companies to secure core technologies and strengthen their product commercialization capabilities,” adding, “We will actively support the establishment of a foundation for entering the global robot market.”
