【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=임종식 경북교육감이 1일 안동 경상북도교육청연구원 대강당에서 취임식을 갖고 민선 6기 ‘저마다의 꿈을 살리는 따뜻한 경북교육’을 새로운 비전으로 선포했다.

이날 행사에는 교육가족과 도민, 지역 기관·단체장 등 650여 명이 참석해 임 교육감의 새로운 출발을 함께 축하했다. 임 교육감은 인공지능(AI) 시대에도 학생 한 명 한 명을 중심에 두고, 책임 있는 교육과 안전한 학교, 그리고 지역과 함께하는 교육생태계 조성을 위해 힘쓰겠다는 의지를 밝혔다.

취임식은 경북 학교예술교육한마당, ‘어울림 1000인 음악제’ 하이라이트 영상 상영을 시작으로, 국민의례와 취임선서, 취임사, 축하영상과 공연, ‘경북교육 희망 퍼포먼스’, ‘함께해요 경북교육’ 제창 순으로 이어졌다. 학생과 학부모, 교직원, 지역 인사들의 축하 메시지와 온울림앙상블, 이광호 교장의 축하공연도 더해지며 새로운 출발의 의미를 더했다.

임 교육감은 취임식에 앞서 안동충혼탑을 찾아 순국선열과 호국영령의 뜻을 기리며 민선 6기 경북교육의 첫걸음을 내디뎠다.

임 교육감은 취임사에서 “지난 8년간 경북교육이 이룬 성과를 더욱 발전시키고, 부족한 부분은 보완해 학생 각자의 꿈을 실현할 수 있도록 힘쓰겠다”며 “‘저마다의 꿈을 살리는 따뜻한 경북교육’을 완성해 AI 시대에도 사람이 중심이 되는 교육 대전환을 이뤄가겠다”고 밝혔다.

민선 6기 경북교육 핵심 정책으로는 ▲사람 중심 AI 교육 ▲학생 맞춤형 책임교육 ▲안전하고 행복한 학교 ▲지역과 함께하는 상생교육 ▲현장과 소통하는 공감행정 등이 제시됐다.

사람 중심 AI 교육을 위해 ‘경북AI배움터’와 ‘인공지능교육센터’를 통해 학생들의 AI 활용 역량을 높이고, 질문 교육과 인문교육을 병행해 미래 핵심역량을 키울 계획이다. 또 기초학력 보장 및 맞춤형 교육 강화, 이주배경 학생과 장애학생 지원, 진로교육과 돌봄까지 아우르는 촘촘한 책임교육 체계를 구축한다. 학교폭력 예방과 교권 보호, 학생 마음건강 지원을 확대해 안전하고 행복한 학교 환경 조성에도 나선다.

아울러, 지역과 함께 성장하는 교육생태계를 만들기 위해 작은 학교의 경쟁력을 높이고, 대학·기업·지방자치단체와의 협력을 확대할 방침이다. 또 AI 기반 행정지원 시스템 도입, 학교업무 정상화로 교직원의 행정 부담을 줄이고, 교육활동 중심의 학교 운영도 지원한다.

임 교육감은 “언제나 교육의 중심은 학생이어야 한다”며 “아이들의 행복이 지역과 대한민국의 미래가 되고 교사의 보람이 교육의 희망이 될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다. 아이의 처음부터 미래까지 12년의 약속을 반드시 지켜가겠다”고 강조했다.

경북교육청은 앞으로 AI 교육 인프라 확충, 학생 맞춤형 책임교육, 학교 안전 강화, 지역 연계 교육생태계 구축 등 민선 6기 핵심 정책을 구체화해 단계적으로 추진할 계획이다.
