포항시는 2일 박 시장이 지역의 안보와 치안, 소방, 교육 분야를 담당하는 주요 기관을 차례로 찾아 취임 인사를 전하고 민선9기 시정 운영 방향을 공유했다고 밝혔다.

이번 방문은 지역사회 핵심 기관들과 긴밀한 협력 기반을 마련하고, 시민 안전과 지역 발전을 위한 공동 대응 체계를 강화하기 위해 추진됐다.

박 시장은 이날 포항남부소방서를 시작으로 해병대 제1사단과 해군항공사령부, 해병대교육훈련단 등 군부대를 방문했다. 이어 포항남부경찰서와 포항해양경찰서, 포항북부소방서, 포항교육지원청을 차례로 찾아 기관장들과 현안을 논의하고 협력 방안을 모색했다.

특히 재난과 각종 안전사고에 대한 대응 역량을 높이기 위한 협조 체계 구축을 비롯해 시민 안전망 강화 방안에 대해 의견을 교환했으며, 지역 교육환경 개선과 주요 현안 해결을 위한 상호 협력 필요성에도 공감대를 형성했다.
