【브레이크뉴스 영덕】박영재 기자=영덕군 지품면 원전리 마을이 농림축산식품부와 지방시대위원회가 추진하는 '2027년 취약지역 생활여건 개조사업' 대상지로 선정돼 정주환경 개선사업이 본격 추진된다.

이번 사업은 주거와 안전, 위생 등 생활 기반이 취약한 농촌지역의 생활환경을 개선해 주민들의 삶의 질을 높이기 위한 국가 공모사업으로, 새뜰마을사업으로도 알려져 있다.

영덕군은 공모 선정에 따라 내년부터 2030년까지 4년간 총사업비 20억 원을 투입해 원전리 마을의 생활환경 개선에 나설 계획이다.

주요 사업은 생활·안전 인프라 확충을 비롯해 노후주택 보수, 슬레이트 지붕 개량, 재래식 화장실 개선, 노후 도로 정비, 주민 역량 강화 프로그램 운영 등 주민들이 체감할 수 있는 생활밀착형 사업 중심으로 추진된다.

사업 대상지인 원전리는 지난해 3월 발생한 의성발 경북 산불로 큰 피해를 입은 지역이다. 이번 사업을 통해 생활환경 개선과 함께 산불 피해 복구를 연계 추진할 수 있게 되면서 주민들의 일상 회복과 마을 재건에도 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

영덕군은 이번 사업이 노후 기반시설 정비를 넘어 안전한 정주 여건을 조성하고 지역 공동체 회복에도 긍정적인 역할을 할 것으로 전망하고 있다.

조주홍 영덕군수는 "이번 공모사업 선정이 대형 산불로 어려움을 겪은 원전리 주민들에게 실질적인 회복의 계기가 되길 바란다"며 "앞으로도 생활환경이 열악한 지역을 지속적으로 발굴해 안전하고 쾌적한 정주 여건을 조성하고, 군민이 체감할 수 있는 민생 중심의 행정을 이어가겠다"고 말했다.

Through this project, improvements to the living environment can be pursued in conjunction with wildfire damage recovery, which is expected to aid in the residents' return to daily life and the reconstruction of the village.

Yeongdeok County anticipates that this project will go beyond merely upgrading aging infrastructure to create safe living conditions and play a positive role in restoring the local community.

Yeongdeok County Governor Jo Joo-hong stated, "I hope that the selection of this project will serve as a catalyst for tangible recovery for the residents of Wonjeon-ri who have suffered from the large-scale wildfire."
