경북교육청은 2027년부터 2030년까지 적용할 미래교육 중기계획인 '경북교육 2030 대전환' 수립 작업을 본격화했다고 밝혔다. 이번 계획은 학생 개개인의 성장과 맞춤형 교육을 중심에 둔 새로운 교육체계를 구축하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있다.

이를 위해 지난달 23일 '경북교육 2030 대전환 추진단'을 출범시킨 데 이어 기획위원회를 구성해 정책 수립 작업을 진행하고 있다. 위원회는 별도 사무공간에서 오는 7월 말까지 핵심 추진 과제를 마련할 계획이다.

기획위원들은 교육감 공약사업과 기존 정책의 추진 성과를 분석하는 한편 교육 현장의 의견 수렴, 국내외 교육정책 연구, 전문가 자문, 학교 방문 등을 병행하며 향후 4년간의 교육 비전을 구체화하고 있다.

경북교육청은 이번 대전환 계획을 단순한 조직 개편이나 제도 개선에 그치지 않고 학생의 배움과 성장을 중심으로 교육 전반을 혁신하는 계기로 삼겠다는 방침이다.

우선 교육 현장의 부담을 줄이기 위한 정책 정비에 착수한다. 학교 운영에 실효성이 낮거나 행정 부담이 큰 사업은 폐지하거나 통합·축소하고, 학생 교육 효과가 높은 정책은 확대해 학교가 수업과 학생 지도에 더욱 집중할 수 있는 환경을 조성할 계획이다.

현재 각 부서는 자체 평가와 교육공동체 설문조사를 통해 정책의 효과성과 만족도를 분석하고 있으며, 기획위원회의 검토를 거쳐 별도 전담조직(TF)이 개선 방안을 마련하고 있다.

학교 현장의 안정적인 교육환경 조성도 주요 과제로 추진된다. 학교폭력과 교권 침해, 악성 민원 등 교육활동을 저해하는 요소를 줄이기 위한 '학교 갈등 프리존' 조성 정책을 통해 교사는 교육에 전념하고 학생은 보다 안전한 환경에서 학습할 수 있는 기반을 마련한다는 구상이다.

경북교육청은 추진단 운영과 정책 연구, 교육공동체 의견 수렴 등을 거쳐 오는 8월 '경북교육 2030 대전환' 종합 추진계획을 발표할 예정이다.

임종식 경북교육감은 "경북교육 2030 대전환은 정책을 바꾸는 데 그치지 않고 학생 한 명 한 명의 꿈과 성장을 지원하는 미래교육 체계를 완성하기 위한 과정"이라며 "학생 중심 교육을 실현할 수 있도록 교육청의 역량을 집중해 지속적인 교육혁신을 추진하겠다"고 말했다.
