경북교육청은 유보통합 정책과 연계해 추진 중인 '미래에서 온(溫) 취약지역 영유아 희망 프로젝트'의 일환으로 '미래에서 온(溫) 아이(AI), 로봇놀이 페스티벌'을 오는 13일부터 운영한다고 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 첨단 교육시설을 접하기 어려운 읍·면 지역 유치원과 어린이집의 만 1~5세 영유아를 대상으로 마련됐다. 놀이 중심의 체험 활동을 통해 AI와 로봇, 코딩 등 미래기술을 자연스럽게 경험하며 창의력과 문제 해결력, 협업 능력 등 미래사회 핵심 역량을 기를 수 있도록 하는 것이 목적이다.

프로그램은 전문 강사와 체험 장비가 교육기관을 직접 찾아가는 방식으로 진행된다. 현장에는 연령별 발달 수준을 고려한 AI·로봇·코딩·과학 체험 공간이 조성되며, 영유아들은 다양한 디지털 기술을 놀이와 접목한 활동을 통해 쉽고 흥미롭게 미래기술을 경험하게 된다.

경북교육청은 사업의 전문성과 안전성을 확보하기 위해 공개입찰과 제안서 평가 절차를 거쳐 운영기관을 선정했다. 외부 전문가가 참여한 평가에서는 교육 프로그램의 적합성, 운영 능력, 안전관리 계획 등을 종합적으로 심사했으며, 현재는 세부 운영 계획과 장비 점검, 참여기관 일정 조율 등 개막 준비를 마무리하고 있다.

안전관리도 강화한다. 모든 운영 현장에는 전문 관리 인력을 배치하고 담임교사가 함께 참여해 체험활동을 지원한다. 체험 이후에는 교사를 대상으로 AI·로봇 놀이 프로그램 활용 방법을 안내해 교육 효과가 일회성에 그치지 않도록 연계 지원도 추진할 계획이다.

운영은 3곳 이상의 유치원과 어린이집이 공동으로 신청하면 지정 장소를 찾아가는 방식으로 진행된다. 기관 유형에 관계없이 함께 참여할 수 있도록 구성해 유치원과 어린이집 간 교육 협력도 확대한다.

이번 프로그램은 오는 7월 13일부터 12월까지 모두 110차례 운영되며, 도내 269개 유치원과 어린이집이 참여할 예정이다.

이어 "앞으로도 지역 간 교육격차를 줄이고 유치원과 어린이집이 함께 성장할 수 있는 미래교육 환경을 조성해 모든 영유아가 균등한 교육 기회를 누릴 수 있도록 다양한 정책을 지속적으로 추진하겠다"고 밝혔다.
